Michigan State is wasting no time offering many of the best prospects in the state of Ohio. Last weekend, they extended an offer to Cincinnati Winton Woods linebacker prospect Antonio Poole. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Poole projects as an outside linebacker in college. The offer from MSU brings his scholarship total to half a dozen. Other schools that have offered him Cincinnati, Louisville, Indiana, Bowling Green and Minnesota. Poole is expected to be on campus for a Spartan Junior Day or spring practice soon. ? And this is a "free" site.

Scout $ - Poole Is One of Ohio's Finest
By Bill Greene

Scout currently ranks Poole as the #12 player in Ohio... He has family in TSUN so he's interested in scUM & MSU... He's been getting interest from OSU, Illinois, UNC, & BC... He's recently visited OSU, Purdue, & Cincy with plans to visit OSU again in the Spring as well as the fall for a game... No leader & plans to decide after the season...

Scout $ - ScoutTV: Antonio Poole

My take: first clip is why this kid has the offers he does...times his rush perfectly, hits the gap at pace and destroys the RB. Looks a little smaller than listed but he hits like a truck. Kid is just ferocious in pursuit and takes great angles but is obviously using stellar athletic ability at this point over technique. Not sure he will ever have the size to play down but he is a great blitzer. Not surprising that he has Big 10 offers...and Brian Rolle has proved you can man the middle at under 6-foot. Poole might be better suited for the outside with his skill set but someone is going to get a talented athlete.

That video is dynamite. I got to see him a lot in the playoffs and I considered putting him higher on my Ohio list (he could easily move up into top 10 consideration). I didn't even notice we had a thread on him yet. I honestly wouldn't be opposed to offering him for the Star spot if we have room...he is awfully reminiscent of a Tyler Moeller in HS.

I mentioned it in another thread, but he's my pick for getting an in-season offer from the Bucks. The most exciting thing about the kid is his rawness as an athlete and linebacker. He's a natural blitzer and runs well, but his frame leaves room for weight and he can improve his technique.

Not as polished as a James Vaughters, but he may be a similar long-term prospect.

Rivals $ - Poole has interest
BuckeyeGrove.com - Brian Snow - March 7, 2010

Grew up a Buckeye fan & would
love to hear more from OSU... The staff has advised him that he's on their board & will be re-evaluated for an offer next season... Camp plans include stops at Kentucky, Michigan State, & the Nike camps at Ohio State & Cincy... Has a Cincy offer & says he "wouldn't mind" playing for the Bearcats...

Rivals $ - Elite Cincinnati-area Cousins Considering UC
Andrew Force of BearcatReport.com, March 7, 2010

Poole & Steven Daniels are cousins who mostly played on the same teams when they were little kids... They'd love to play together again in college but will each make their own decision... Both are getting high level offers & interest from many of the same schools so it could happen... Poole mentions increased interest from OSU but Daniels doesn't mention the Buckeyes...

why not much interest?

Can anyone hear tell me why it doesn't seem like we are that interested in this kid? He's highly rated, in-state, and we have yet to have linebacker commitment. Just curious. Thanks in advance for anyone's input.

Wad, what are the chances we offer this kid if we miss out on one of the 3 we are currently recruiting.

It's my understanding that Crowell is selecting his school in November, Price and the Texan(Wallace) are waiting and don't exactly have time tables.

Is there a chance the staff offers him before other decisions are made or is the staff likely going to take a wait and see approach? Or even more importantly is he next on the staff's list?

The question may be do the Bucks take an LB in this class? It would appear, with 4 spots remaining, that there are other priorities. Walker and Wynne from Glenville appear to have 2 of the 4 spots depending on academic admission. Gorman and Grant could be the last two IMO. the defensive backfield appears to be a higher priority than LB. Also, Carter and Wells are both looking to get back to the Buckeyes come Januaury. These two ships would come from next years class.
