'11 ATH Tyler Williams

Colerain HS
Cincinnati (OH)
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 160

Don't let the small stature fool you. Tyler is a game breaker. Ran for 1333 yards last year and 17 TD's including two big TD runs against St. X in week one. Older brother is Trammel Williams, a former Colerain RB and current walk-on RB at Cincinnati.

Tyler Williams RB/WR 5′7 155 4.75 Cincinnati Colerain Ohio

2008 Honors: HM-ONN/Ohio High-Ohio (RB)

2007 Honors: Top 12 Ohio Freshman Watchlist (January 2009)

One of the top sophomore RBs in Ohio....Through 3 games of the 2008 season: In the backfield, sophomore running back Tyler Williams has 29 rushes for 343 yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore fullback Trayion Durham has 48 rushes for 294 yards and two touchdowns.....Very quick, has the speed to get around the corner and can cut on a dime. Would make a nice slot receiver in college....He had one of the top freshman SPARQ scores in the nation (4.75 forty, 4.12sh, 3100 KPB, 31.2vert, 150 MASS, 79.56 SPARQ)....His older brother, Trammell, plays at Cincinnati

I think when his four years are completed he will be my favorite Colerain player ever. That's saying something, too because you all know how I feel about Tyler Moeller.
We have plenty of Tyler highlights on our web site and I may embed some of them here later tonight.

Spoke with Tyler last night. He hopes to be at 160 by the start of this season and 170 by the time he graduates. With Colerain's strength and conditioning program, this is more than likely. He said he has received the most attention from Cincinnati, Duke (he has the grades) and Ohio State.
Tyler said his favorite college team is Ohio State.

My Take:

Watching Tyler's film is like watching one of the old school clips of Babe Ruth running the bases...it seems like everything is in fast forward. The high knees and medium strides make it seem as if his cleats never leave the turf. Straight line speed is impressive and he is dangerous in space...enjoyed seeing him in the slot and on special teams. Questions about his size and what he can do without the space...can he exist at RB out of the I or is he a slot? Athleticism is not a question...size and position will be.

As grad said, it's almost hard to believe that Tyler isn't in fast forward. Those first 5 yards he eats up come in no time, he is just explosive. I'm sure his top end speed will only get better and hopefully he grows some, but regardless, I like him at slot in the future. Kind of reminds me of Bam Childress.

Kid is ELECTRIC. but the question is, can he take a hit?

I see him really as an all over the field type player. I'd like to see him catch balls, run some, and return kicks.. He should grow a few more inches though hopefully.

I have watched Tyler for three years. I can't answer the question if he can take a hit because, honestly, I've never seen him have to take a hit. It is damn near impossible for defenders to line him up to hit him hard.

Talked to Tyler today after morning practice at Colerain. Says his electronically timed 40 at UC two weeks ago was 4.4 flat. Said speed training this summer really helped his 40 time.

Also said that he covets an OSU offer and that if it were to come that he'd be a Buckeye. He realizes his size could be an issue but wants to keep working because he believes he can play at the level.

Has he grown any? What would you put him at Height/Weight-wise?
