'11 IN PG/SG Jeremiah Davis (Cincinnati Signee)

Muncie (Ind.) senior-to-be guard Jeremiah Davis still has a long list of schools after him, including Indiana and Michigan State.

But the 6-foot-4 Davis has also picked up some new interest.

During the National Basketball Players Association top-100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va., Davis said he's recently heard from St. John's, Oregon State, Cleveland State and Wake Forest.

Davis had already been listing IU, Michigan State, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Xavier, Purdue, Ohio State, Tennessee, UNLV, Dayton, Miami (Fla.), DePaul and Ball State.

"I'll see this summer who is really interested," Davis said. "I might take a couple of visits in June and then just see what happens this summer."

Busy Central senior, Jeremiah Davis III, still wide open in his recruitment

By THOMAS ST. MYER ? [email protected] ? June 24, 2010

MUNCIE -- Someone cold-cocked Jeremiah Davis III. Or so his slumped body indicated as he sagged in a chair at the concession stand on the Worthen Arena court.

Actually, Davis was simply hit by fatigue after Central played its fourth game Tuesday at the Ball State Men's Basketball Shootout.

For one of the few times this month, the Central senior played in his own backyard, but he still felt the effects from a hectic schedule that top prep basketball players follow in the summer as they travel from one showcase event to the next.

These days, Davis lives out of a suitcase -- OK, gym bag -- and racks up one frequent-flyer mile after another as if he were the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

"It's definitely exhausting, traveling from one camp, having a day off, sleeping in all day, then going right to the next camp, then coming back here and working out with your team and playing in these school camps," said Davis, a 6-foot-2 combo guard ranked in the top 100 in the country by Rivals and Scout. "It's definitely exhausting, but when you love the game, you just keep playing."

And playing, and playing and playing.

Jeremiah Davis, Muncie Central (IN), Indiana Elite: Davis has taken a tumble in the national rankings and his play in Indianapolis probably won?t help the cause. One observation that stood out: Many of the strengths Davis previously used to separate himself from opponents no longer appear to exist. Defenders don?t allow him to bully his way to the basket by using his strength. His first step is adequate, but it?s not a sure thing he?ll get past his defender. He?s still a very good prospect that excels in transition, is a solid passer and a great kid. Michigan State, once considered the school to beat, was noticeably absent from both of his games on Tuesday.

Former Central standout Jeremiah Davis III commits to Cincinnati

By THOMAS ST. MYER ? [email protected] ? November 14, 2010

Jeremiah Davis III first surfaced on the national basketball recruiting scene in the spring of 2008 when the then-Central freshman received his first NCAA Division I scholarship offer.

Two-and-a-half years after his first offer, Davis finally put an end to his recruitment. The 6-foot-2 senior guard orally committed to play for Cincinnati on Saturday.

"I'm really glad it's over," said Davis, who now attends Huntington Prep Academy in Huntington, W.Va.
