Despite being a fan of Notre Dame since he was a kid and having former teammates in the program, contact with the Irish has dwindled. Purdue and Indiana have offered. He has interest in Iowa, Northwestern, Miami, Florida, Georgia, and Michigan State. Location and position are not major factors in his decision making process. No mention of Ohio State.

Springmann has two offers

Tony Springman (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) is one of the top Class of 2011 prospects in the Hoosier State. After starting at defensive end during his sophomore season, the 6-foot-7, 245-pounder is starting at both defensive tackle and offensive tackle this season.

"I played defensive end when I was at (college football) camps this summer," Springman said. "It could be either end or tackle (in college)."

Springman has scholarship offers from Purdue and Indiana. He attended the Ohio State at Indiana game earlier this season and plans to go to the Michigan State at Purdue game this weekend.

He also attended Michigan State's opening game when the Spartans hosted Montana State, and has visited Notre Dame twice. Other schools on Springman's list include Iowa, Miami, Georgia, Stanford and Northwestern.

"I'm not close (to making a commitment)," Springman said. "I don't have a favorite."

Measured in at 6'6/257... Played OT (1st time) and DE last season... Will play whatever gets him on the field the fastest... Being recruited by schools from all over the country... Singled out Miami-FL and Notre Dame (grew up a fan of)... Location won't be a major factor and plans to announce on signing day 2011...

Michigan's Junior Day boasts top Midwest talent

...
One of the Midwest's top offensive linemen for the 2011 class is Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Dwenger's Tony Springmann (6-foot-6, 260 pounds). His interest in Michigan was piqued after attending the Junior Day.

"I thought to myself that this Junior Day would be pivotal," Springmann said. "It turned out to be a great day, a great experience and they are right up at the top of my list."

Assistants are pulling for him to be offered but RRod hasn't seen his tape yet... His visit for their last junior day went well & he learned a lot of great things about the program... He hasn't heard from Notre Dame in a while & an offer from them won't vault them to the top of his list... Hopes to commit either right before the season or right after...
