'11 GA DB Damian Swann (Georgia Signee)

Charone Peake proved why he's the No. 1-ranked WR at the National Select 7-on-7 Championships - ESPN

Mr. Versatility
ESPNU 150 safety Damian Swann (Atlanta/Grady) really impressed us with his play today on defense and offense. He does not have great physical measurables (6-foot, 175 pounds), but he impressed us with his length and physical upside. The No. 9-ranked safety in the country flexed his athletic ability by taking a high number of reps at corner, which is a position he said many schools are recruiting him for. Out on the perimeter, he displayed great quickness, makeup speed when beat and athleticism competing for the jump ball.

We are not surprised by the interest he is garnering as a potential corner because he displayed good body control and range, but he will need to learn to play with consistent hip sink when transitioning because he was beat on a few occasions when opening up to run vertically. What really surprised us was his play on offense. Swann displayed polish as a route runner, was fluid out of his breaks and on one occasion ran an outstanding post corner route for an easy touchdown.

Athlete Swann Deciding On Official Visits
October 21st, 2010 ║ Posted By: Josh Ward

Athlete Damian Swann from Grady High School in Atlanta will take official visits to several schools.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and Miami are the five schools likely to receive official visits from Swann, according to 247sports.com.

?I think those might be the ones,? said Swann, who added that Southern California and Texas Tech are also being considered.

Many believe it?s a battle between Georgia and Alabama for Swann.

?Both programs are good programs,? he said. ?I could see myself playing at either one.?

Damian Swann to Marcus Caffey: 'I'll go to Georgia if you do' | AJC

9:54 am October 27, 2010, by Chip Towers

When you say Grady Grey Knights these days, the first name that probably comes to mind is Damian Swann, the AJC Super 11 defensive back who is attracting recruiting attention from all over.

But there is a new name emerging from the old Atlanta high school. Marcus Caffey, a 6-foot, 190-pound running back, leads the Grey Knights with 911 yards on 78 carries (11.7 ypc). He, too, is attracting recruiters to Grady by the dozens. And along with Swann, Caffey is a big reason Grady is 7-1 and ranked No. 9 in Class AAA.

It will probably come as no surprise that these two elite athletes are also close friends.
