'11 FL WR Ja'Juan Story (Florida Signee - Transfer to TCU)

The story on Story

Rivals.com four-star wide receiver Ja'Juan Story left Florida to spend some time in the snow visiting Columbus, Ohio, last weekend. But unlike most Floridians, Brooksville's 6-foot-4, 192-pound standout doesn't seem opposed to the snowy climate.

"It was really fun, the snow was fun, the school was good, and the people were good too," said Story. "They bond really well up there, you follow them around and they seem like they've known each other forever but they've only known each other a couple weeks. They get along real well."

Story said he liked the coaches, his host Braxton Miller and all of the Ohio State facilities. He rated his visit as a 10.

"There was nothing I didn't like," he said.

Following the Under Armour All-American game, Story seemed more at ease with his commitment to Florida, but still wanted to explore his options, entertaining offers from Ohio State, North Carolina, Georgia and interest from Oregon.

Today, though, he has narrowed his options to a final two.

"I like both (Florida and Ohio State)," he said. "They've got good people who make good decisions. I've narrowed it down to just those two. It will be hard for me to make my decision.

Tough call IMO. Fair to the employer to delay the announcement. Fair to the kids to do it now.

I think it depends...if it's just so he can finish up his duties as recruiting coordinator but the kids are aware he'll be departing (which seems to be the case) then I don't see an issue with it at all.

This has to put Drayton in a precarious position. He is going to be the WR's coach and he has clearly been talking to Story. I would find it impossible NOT to massage him toward Ohio State knowing I was heading there even though I'm employed by Florida currently.

I'd be remarkably comfortable with it. :wink2:

If Drayton is the next coach, how do you tell someone "We'd love you to come to UF. Or you could go to OSU and be coached by me. Your choice."

That would be an awkward conversation. Or one that includes a lot of winks and nudges. :wink2:

This reminds of the last eight or ten chicks who dumped me, the way they all acted.

I am not a stalker!!!!!
I'm with you Max. If the selfish witches don't want to discuss your mother and the wonderful world of military miniatures for eight to ten hours - then to heck with them!!!

....and a restraining order just says, "I care!"

Just so you know, my issues had nothing to do with either my mother or military miniatures. I won't discuss the possible involvement, however, of alien visitation.

Back to Mr. Story, who seems destined to be the next great Buckeye WR. He's aware, no doubt, of our history in producing Super Bowl MVP caliber wideouts.

Nature Coast's Ja'Juan Story a signing day decision
Thu. January 27, 2011 | Bryan Burns

Nature Coast athlete Ja'Juan Story will wait until signing day to make his college decision according to Sharks football coach Mark Nash.

Story is down to two schools: Ohio State and Florida.

"Right now, I think it's neck-and-neck between the two," Nash said.

Story initially gave an oral commit to Florida in June of 2010 but reopened his recruiting after Gators' head coach Urban Meyer announced his resignation on Dec. 8.

The 6-foot-3, 190 pound Story is ranked the 43rd overall recruit in the nation and sixth best receiver by ESPN. As a senior playing quarterback at Nature Coast, Story completed 33-of-60 passes for 427 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed 99 times for 847 yards and 12 touchdowns. He caught seven passes for 123 yards and two more scores.

Waiting to the last minute

A Florida commit form Florida who is looking to wait until the end (after previously verballing) is a good sign for Ohio State. If he was staying at Florida, he would have already strengthened his verbal.

Yeah and if he puts on a gator hat on signing day it wouldn't be all that exciting. Just reaffirming what we already knew. If he wants to make it a dramatic commitment, which I suspect he does, then he will pick the Bucks.

I don't think it necessarily means anything one way or the other. It could be simply that he wants to announce the same day he signs.
