(10) tOSU vs. (7) VCU, Thurs 3/19 @ 4:40p ET, TNT

A few thoughts...

How is an official scorebook still a thing? Isn't this 2015? Why is antique clerical bull[Mark May] like that affecting the score of a game? This is basketball, not Cones of Dunshire.

That elbow should have been a Flagrant 2. There's no way there wasn't malicious intent behind that maneuver. The fact that it wasn't a foul at all until there was blood was a joke. Those refs are garbage and should not work again.

That play where DAR fouled his own teammate to get him to pass up a three? He should do that more.

That was VCU's best shot. Nice win.

agree 100%.

Maybe not. The new TV deal comes after next season. Salary cap is going to go up like 50%. DAR will make more money if he stays.
It's a very unique situation where staying is a better financial decision, but I would still go if I were him. If we lived in a world where injuries didn't occur then the smart move is coming back. But the risk of injury when you're a top 5 pick today may not be worth it. For example, imagine if Oden came back. Goes from #1 overall to potentially undrafted. Now obviously that's the extreme, but still.

If he does leave I still think we'll have a good team, but if he comes back well be a top 10 team most likely.

I know ppl are down on the senior class, but i think scott and thompson will be hard to replace. I don't follow recruiting much so i have no idea what thad has coming in, though given his track record i'll assume there's some talent there

If Bates-Diop makes a leap than Thompson will all but be forgotten about. I don't think Harris will be as Scott but Jaquan Lyle will probably be better in some aspects at least

I know this opponent is lacking, but I loved the intensity I saw from Amir, Russell and KBD. Heck, even Loving was playing with more confidence and precision. Russell has always been a scorer but his body language and defensive effort have been woeful during many of the recent rough outings.

I hope they find ways to keep getting Keita into the game though that may be unlikely against a taller opponent that will prevent the small ball lineup (with Loving as the defacto big).

They will miss the defense of Scott and Thompson but if they can somehow get DAR to stay, the offensive dominance may make up the difference with a host of scorers starting and coming off the bench. Much like craft, I feel bad for Scott as he would be a good PG on a balanced roster as he attacks and distributes well. He just has the same problem that Russell has. Both should have 50-75% more assists per game but the recipients of their passes rarely capitalize on their playmaking.
