The opportunity to stay close to home and play college football was just too good to pass up for two local high school standouts.
Wadsworth senior receiver Anthony Schrock and Orrville senior linebacker Chase Hoobler have each orally committed to play football on scholarship at the University of Akron.
The duo confirmed the commitments Monday by telephone and both said the UA coaching staff, the UA facilities ? most notably the new InfoCision Stadium ? and the closeness to home were major factors in joining the Zips' 2010 recruiting class.
