'10 OH RB Cameron Ontko (Wisconsin Verbal)

Cameron now has offers from Wisconsin, Georgia Tech, Eastern Michigan, and Indiana. He says Wisconsin is his current leader but his dream Buckeye offer would definitely cause some thinking.

Does the BPRT believe that Cameron could eventually see an offer?

I wouldn't rule it out based on his recent performances. However, he is the dreaded 'tweener and I'm not sure where he stands in that category. Hardnosed enough for sure...but he will have to prove the athleticism at camp.

Ontko committed to Wisconsin. Anybody want to share their thoughts on the acquisition for Bucky?

I'm awfully surprised he ended up with the offers he did. I had him pegged as a MAC player all the way.

If I recall correctly, he missed a lot of time with some type of sickness last season. But when I saw him play, I was not very impressed.

Well, I asked for your opinion, so it's appreciated. However, I respectfully disagree with it. When was the last time a 210 pounder who runs an electronically timed 4.4 40, isn't scared of contact, reacts quickly on plays, has football instincts, and plays in a high profile recruiting state; was simply fodder for the MAC? I was surprised he possessed only three high major offers. He may have gotten a slow play offer from UM or OSU, if he was willing to wait. The only real knock on him I can see is his height/weight combo makes him somewhat of a tweener. But if he maintains his weight at its current level, he should be plenty quick for a strong safety. And even though he's only 6 feet tall, that's not outrageously short for a linebacker, and he has the broad shoulders to somewhat compensate. When Wisconsin offered Chris Borland from Kettering last year, I didn't see how he projected to the next level. Can't say the same about Ontko.

I'm on the same page here. I like Cameron but have a feeling the tweener status hurt him...I see him picking up more offers after some early game film gets around.

I'm on the same page...I like Cameron but I can't see a definite position for him. Straight line speed is more than sufficient and he likes contact.
