Ursuline running back Allen Jones took a handoff from Lamar McQueen and cut back to his right for a 67-yard touchdown run on the game’s opening play. Jones said that the Irish were looking to make a statement early and he did by running away from the Raiders defenders just 20 seconds into the contest.

‘‘We wanted to make a statement on the game’s first play,’’ Jones said. ‘‘We felt disrespected because people said we have no heart, so we wanted to come out and show them what we’re made of.’’
