Xavier: McKenzie injured this past weekend

Xavier University freshman forward Griffin McKenzie sustained injuries stemming from an incident over the weekend, according to the Xavier athletic department.
Details are still not clear and there were no police reports as of Tuesday night from the purported location of the incident.
"Xavier was made aware of an incident this past weekend involving Griffin McKenzie in which he was injured," the XU athletic department told the Enquirer.
A Xavier athletic department spokesperson declined comment beyond the statement. A message left for the McKenzie family was not returned Tuesday night. A message left this morning was not immediately returned.
McKenize, a first-team all-Greater Catholic League South division selection this past season, was an Enquirer Division I all-area selection. He helped lead Moeller (22-5) to the Division I state final. The Crusaders were state runner-up.
McKenzie, who is 6 feet 9 and 220 pounds, averaged 11.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks for Moeller this past season.
McKenzie, one of the state's top recruited players in the 2010 class, had several other significant scholarship offers. He orally committed to Xavier in September 2009. He also considered Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest among his final choices.
