ESPN Evaluation said:
Shepard is a very good offensive tackle that projects to a guard in the future. He has good height at 6'4" and carries his 275 pounds well. A smart offensive lineman that makes few mistakes and is vey conscientious of his techniques. Comes off the ball with a flat back and good leg drive. Gets movement at the point of attack and would completely dominate if he got his hands inside the frame of the defensive mans body every play. Could also gain even more power if he rolled his hips on initial contact. Does a good job of squaring up on defender when executing the down block; good short lateral step and gets into man quickly. Shows effort getting to second level and can fit into linebacker but must use hands more aggressively and clamp on to defender. A very good technician that can pull and get vertical. As a pass setter, anchors down well but then lunges losing balance at times. Kind of catches defensive pass rusher instead of jolting him with his hands. On deep pass sets needs to kick back a little deeper buying some time before taking on rusher; a little patience will help out. Does a good job of breaking downfield after pass is thrown. Shepard is a good, solid offensive lineman that needs to work on his running and flexibility in the off season. He's a physical guy that can develop into a very talented guard.

By D Berk. Committed to Cincinnati. After seeing places like Northwestrn, Maryland and Indiana Clint saw nothing that compared to the Bearcats. His parents loved the school as well, and he notes the strong engineering program.
