The 2010 running back comes from a top notch program in Ohio, and is starting to hear from some big time names. Has he received a coveted offer yet?

"My two favorites are USC and Penn State but I haven't heard anything from them yet. I like hearing from Iowa but that's about it."

Heard Adds Offer

Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball - Bucknuts.com BK 3-1-09

Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney running back and defensive back Braylon Heard has seen his scholarship offer list grow from one to a half dozen in the past month.

Penn State assistant Jay Paterno got the jump on everyone when he visited Cardinal Mooney in late January and offered Heard a scholarship. West Virginia, North Carolina State, Indiana and Akron have recently joined Penn State with offers.

The 5-foot-11 and 170-pound Heard played both cornerback and running back during his junior season. He intercepted two passes and rushed for close to 1,000 yards.

The Buckeyes have been in contact with Heard who attended the Ohio State-Michigan game.

Heard is an outstanding player who has proven that he can play with the best of them. I hope that his size doesn't hurt his recruiting status. He has a solid frame, but he is not 5'11. That said, he reminds me a lot of Darren Sproles, so hopefully he'll have a similar career.

Is he really that small? I thought he looked to be about Boom's size.

I've met Heard before, and no way is he 5'11. That one of the things that I was a little worried about with him is his height. I don't doubt that he's at least 180 pounds, maybe even closer to 190, but he is short. He's a great player though and I'm glad to see that he is getting the hype that he deserves.

I'd take 5'10" 190, that's what Boom is (maybe Boom is a little closer to 200), but Braylon Has GREAT speed and looks like a tough runner. If we can bring in Roderick Smith as a big back, then Braylon as an athlete at both RB/DB and see what happens.

I just watched his Scouting Ohio video again and, wow, he looks like a great, great talent.
