I agree that the talent level in chicago isnt the best. But look who king have turn out. Like osufootball284 said that Jeff Allen came out of there 2 years ago and started as a truse freshman for the Fightling Illini, at the hardest position on the line. And Miles Strother as well. So either the talent level they play is good or the talent of these big lineman is far more superior then whats expected of them.

Exactly, I was saying the same thing if you see these lineman who are not rated or recruited heavily coming out of King College Prep and see them becoming successful on the next level then obviously the coaching there is preparing these guys enough to get there. So why not take a chance depending on the trend of lineman coming out of there. i think they have like 6 in the big and 2 in sec in the past 4 years.

I was just saying that henderson and mckee both have different attributes that i feel will benefit the :osu: offensive line equally just my thought

I would say these will benefit that line equally. Henderson is much more experience and have more football knowldge then McKee. Mainly because city schools like King dont get the best of best intrustments to prepare these kids but they do have some coaching to make up for that

Late bloomer? Not a very impressive list of offers. Is this year another case of where offering a select few and missing out on a lot of the top targets is going to back fire on the staff. It seems like it's happened quite a bit the last few years and we end up settling for a few plan B guys to fill the class.

Are you saying that is bad??? HELLOO!! Ohio State has dominated the Big Ten recently, high in the BCS standing year after year. In big bowl games, and no match for Michigan. I say the plan B guys are helping out wouldnt u?

The reason that it appears that Ohio State is "settling" for "Plan B guys" is due to the way the staff approaches recruting--that is not blanketing the nation with dozens and dozens of offers, but rather issuing offers to thier top targets early, and then issuing offers to others as the need and/or merit dictates, while not really issuing a lot of extra offers. Their approach allows those that follow recruiting to see an implied ranking of recruits, based on the order of the offers--and the notion of "Plan B guys".

Every school, of course ranks their recruits, but those that issue dozens and dozens of offers don't make it easy for fans to see the rank order, and determine who the "Plan B guys" are.

The point is, this happens with EVERY school--it is just seemingly more transparent at Ohio State due to the approach the staff takes. Given the string of Big Ten Championships and BCS Bowls, it appears to be working.

Now, most importantly, back to Greg McKee. :)

Yea i didnt think of it like that but, Jim Bollman told Greg that he is 6th on their list, with 4 guys offered and 1 guy not offered in front of him and only 1 commit. So it McKee might land it if the others dont commit

I think they might have offered him already?? and i agree this kid is going to turn into something big, you can already see the blue chip skills he already possess and with the right coaching, we might be looking at the next orlando pace here.

Might be going a tad too far there but the kid does look good.

Besides Henderson and James, I think there are only two guys with offers who haven't verballed elsewhere, Green and Kouandjio, and they have very low interest in OSU. I'm not sure who the guy without the offer might be, Eric Franklin, Schoffner?

Yea i agree he has the foot speed like orlando pace had but, i dont see the dominace in him yet, however he seems to be a late bloomer so who kknows?

If you look closely at their play styles they have very similar technique and ability. The quickness of orlando being a basketball players, and Mckee if chosen to be a good PF or DE. Strength wise orlando barely benched his weight coming out of hs. So i am looking at it in all ways before i made that asssumption

Do you think Eric Franklin and or Schoffner is a better pick then Greg?

Well I know any lineman that is offered by OSU is good. I been around OSU for nearly all my life. And know people who have made it to the league and havent. It is a tough road and really whever Mckee chooses he will porbably be alright.

in Greg highlight video he dont look like he is 295lbs must be the off season McDonals Meals he factored in lol
