Cardinal pledge Tai-ler Jones plans multiple visits
Under Armour All-American receiver Tai-ler Jones (Gainesville, Ga.) is expected to take some visits before making his final decision, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

He will make an official visit to South Bend for the Notre Dame-USC game on Oct. 17th weekend. The following week, he will take an unofficial to Alabama for the Tennessee game. He plans on visiting Auburn and taking an official to Stanford before ultimately deciding. He's in the process of talking with Oregon about taking official visit to Eugene, but isn't sure if that's going to happen.

"I'm still solid to Stanford, and just going to these other schools, it just gives me the opportunity to make sure I'm exhausting all measures with this decision," Jones said.

He added, "I'm going to be taking a more in-depth look, campus life, the surroundings and a closer look at how the players look at the coaches, and how they think they prepare them, and how prepared they think they'll be for the next level after four or five years."

Under Armour All-American Tai-ler Jones drops Cardinal for Irish
ESPNU 150 wide receiver Tai-ler Jones (Gainesville, Ga.) has decommitted from Stanford and is now set to sign as part of Notre Dame's Class of 2010, ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com reports.

Jones was also offered by Alabama, Auburn, Oregon, Miami-FL, Oklahoma, Ohio State, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, UCLA, Tennessee, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State, Georgia Tech, USC, Maryland, Arkansas, Kansas, Ole Miss, West Virginia, N.C. State and Kentucky.

Jones made an official visit to South Bend and took in Notre Dame's close loss to USC Saturday. His father, Andre Jones, was a member of the Irish's 1988 national championship team before moving on to the NFL.

He told IrishSportsDaily.com, "I got to see the tradition that the players play with, and with the fans and what they exhibit before the game with the Irish walk, and how they take the whole day and they surround it with football. I also got to see the chemistry that the team played with, and no matter how the game went, they're always being optimistic and thinking they can come back and win."

Last fall, he caught 81 passes for 979 yards (12.1 average) and 12 touchdowns. Jones also registered 28 tackles and two interceptions, earning all-state recognition.

Gainesville wide receiver Tai-ler Jones has already had one change of heart in recruiting. Could another one be afoot in the wake of Charlie Weis? dismissal at Notre Dame?

Not yet at least.

I would love to see us get back in this one...I think Jones is a guy that committed to the school though, not the coach. BUT I do think Jones is possibly the best receiver in the country, other than Woods, so I would love to see us through our hat in the ring anyways.

After decomitting from a far away school and then comitting to ND (and wavering), if Mr. Jones goes to a third school I think he'll settle for something close to home.
