'10 FL WR Ivan McCartney (WVU Signee)

You might want to ask McCartney how he would feel about that, I'd think if you're genuinely interested in someone (especially a top 100 player), you'd go after him and you wouldn't wait until Dunkley or Jones said they're not interested. You never know how the ball is going to bounce.

Well, we are only taking one WR, two at the most imo. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind an offer right now but it's early and we'll know on Jones soon enough. Not really a backup option, we just don't have that many 'ships this year going to WR.

I think we take two. Jones has a spot if he wants it, and Dunkley, McCartney and whoever else is fighting for the other. Neither guy is going to be deciding soon, and neither is a slam-dunk for OSU anyways...both are studs so why not offer both?

Offer all three, take all three if they pull the trigger...

I mean seriously, we are talking about 3 of the top 10 WRs in the country...I know we are low on ships and WR's is not a huge need, but the chances of all 3 coming is not that high, and make them all feel needed...It is not like we are Michigan or Tennessee where we are offering 10 WR, it is only 3, and we are not talking about projects here...

I was just about to post the same thing. If all three want in, why stop them? It isn't like we are reaching for questionable talent.

Rivals $

3/18

From the Marshall site...Marshall has verbally offered, joining the likes of Boston College, Ole Miss, West Virginia and Oregon...thinks OSU and USC are close to offering and is also hearing a lot from Miami and Florida. Wide open but does favor Southern Cal, Oregon, Florida, Ohio State and Miami.

FL WR still looking to hear from USC, CU
By Eric Guimaraes

WR Ivan McCartney (6-3 180) of Miramar, FL has scheduled his first official visit to Oregon on September 18. He likes their offense and business school. McCartney has heard from USC in the past but says it's been a while since the Gamecocks have contacted him. "They showed some interest early but have not contacted me recently," he said. "I would love to hear from them again." McCartney says USC interests him because of their offense. "I'm not too concerned about what offense I play in, but I do like their pro-style offense and how they spread the ball around," said McCartney. He also likes Steve Spurrier. McCartney says that Clemson interests him as well. "I don't know as much about them but would want to hear from them," said McCartney. He says the schools maintaining the most contact with him now are Oregon, Miami, Florida, and West Virginia. McCartney also said he wants to take all of his official visit outside the state of Florida. He does not have any favorites.

Ivan McCartney (Miramar, Fla.) is down to four schools, Florida, Miami, Oregon and West Virginia, according to ESPN affiliate Web site DuckTerritory.com. He also said that North Carolina has been recruiting him and may work their way into the picture.

McCartney has an official visit set up to West Virginia on Oct. 17th for the Mountaineers home game with Marshall and says he plans to visit Florida on Nov. 28th, the weekend the Gators play host to in-state rival Florida State. He previously visited Oregon officially on the weekend of Sept. 19th, when the Ducks played host to Utah.

He added he plans to take the full allotment of official visits, but has yet to schedule any addition trips.
