if that is the case I hope we dont let him take an official visit because it sounds just like a free trip to him, IMO. Hopefully Im reading into it too much.

I read it the same way. Seems like he needs to show a little more interest if he wants OSU to bring him in for an official.

Wrong. Get him up for an official. Get him into a game. Let him breath the same air as Terrelle Pryor. Put him in a room with JT... this is what visits and recruiting are for - show and tell the kids why they should be interested.

Not if he's going to waste one of the school's available officials, waste the time of the staff, and possibly negatively recruit Ohio State while on the visit.

He is likely to want to visit for the USC game. The last thing we want is a HEAVY FSU lean (which he is) on the same visit as LaMarcus Joyner.

Sheesh...hard-on, much?

If you don't think the kids coming in aren't impressed by being near TP, you're right.

56 available officials to offer, 52 schollies out now, 9 of which are to kids who are currently committed elsewhere... Green is a kid the coaches started talking to when he was a sophomore. the coaches should bring him in if they want him.

I'll also bet Joyner will listen to the coaches, Genron, etc., more than another recruit - not to mention, there's nothing the kid can tell him in Columbus that he can't say on the phone, IM, email, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, whatever...

Im going to sound alot like Bill Greene here, but you have to keep recruiting the kids you want, and its a lot of work.

Bring him in. It can't hurt. Not like we use up all our official visits anyway. I see no harm in letting him get a second look. You never know what will happen. Maybe he bonds with some of the other recruits, is blown away by the atmosphere, or has a fun night out on the town.

You never know what could stick in the mind of a 17 year old when he sits down to make a decision

Recruiting is work and it's a part time sales job. You don't just quit on top level recruits because you may be 4th or 5th on the totum poll at the present time

I must have missed something...was it ever a question if he was to take an official or not with regards to the staff? Do you guys really think that they're going to tell someone of Green's stature "no thanks"? This argument is a bit pointless to me...

They have before. See "O'Dowd, Kris"

We never use up all of our official visits. I remember recently we had like 30-something official visits taken during a year. Agree with you, 'Bus... get this kid in for an official. We'll have officials to spare and the kid's definetly worth the time.

Then again, it's all for naught if he decides before the season starts like Grad's recent post indicates...

So you're ok bringing in a FSU recruiter for LJ's official visit?

It's like UM bringing in a Glenville kid to visit the same weekend that an undecided UM/OSU recruit is visiting.
