'09 OH RB Bud Golden (Illinois Verbal)

I found some stats from the 2007 season.

10 games
1134 yards 15 td on 179 carries

a look inside the numbers shows how impressive Golden was last year.

Greater Miami Conference

you will notice that Golden was hurt in weeks 10 and 11 and still tried to play.

Sycamore, as a team, averaged 38 rushing attempts and 16 passing attempts per game. Golden only averaged 18 carries a game. Not too shabby.

If I had to compare him to somebody I have personally seen run on the high school level, I'd say, physically, he reminds me of a bigger, faster version of Mister Simpson.

Don't let his video fool you. Golden is very, very fast. he just moves so effortlessly (many in this thread have used the word 'smooth') that it doesn't look like he's moving that fast. I like this kid a ton. But I do agree that it could be a battle with Cincinnati.

Also, Golden did play DB as a Sophomore and I have read some 'gurus' say he could still be a DB. I don't see it. The kid is as natural a runner as Cincy has produced in a few years. (DeShawn Winn). All of this is just my opinion of course. :)

I live about 5-10 minutes from his school (I live in Kenwood for anybody that knows Cincinnati). I might have to go check him out as I haven't heard anything about him until now and I follow recruiting fairly closely.

really? wow....Many in Sycamore thought Golden should have gotten more touches than Latessa did when B.G was a sophomre because he could fly and already had a senior's body. As a Sohphomre against Colerain in the 06 playoffs he caught 2 passes for fifty yards and ran the ball 6 times for 30+...but those were his only touches in the game. I'm not so sure Sycamore doesn't hang in the game if they feed him the ball. Latessa, God love him, just didn't have the breakaway speed and power to out run the Colerain defense. Go and check him out if you get the chance. Sycamore is a program on the rise and will be a serious contender in 5 years if Datillo stays.

Nice video-I like how he is very comfortable running in traffic, w/out being a straight ahead bruiser. Kinda reminds me of Ahman Green, stylistically. Does anyone know if he now favors the Buckeyes, after the offer?

i live in the eastgate area, and found out that golden went to sycamore, so i thought it would be easy to go see him play this year. come to find out they play the high school team in my area week one! how convenient!

This kid is gonna be special! Someone earlier in the thread compared him to Jamal Lewis, and that is exactly who he reminds me of. Granted he is not as big yet, but with the choppy steps and deseptive speed, sure looks like Lewis in his days as a Vol. I love how he makes one move and goes, really gets up field in a hurry. He looks like a Buckeye back to me, maybe a little like Keith Byers. I haven't been this excited about a RBs film since I first saw Beanie highlights! I gotta think JT will be after him big time.

Might have to visit the 'ol alma mater and catch a few games this year. Sycamore football seems to have come a long way...

For those that don't know, the school in general is in a very affluent community on the east side - on par with Dublin Coffman or Upper Arlington. Very competitive in the classroom. I know my 3.9 GPA didn't put me in the top 10% for that year.

If Sycamore is on a 4 pt scale and a 3.9 is not in the top 10% of the class ... I think they give out As way too liberally...I've seen various recruits with a GPA of 3.5 listed and have to raise their test scores in order to qualify.

Back to Bud, why did he not mention his offer from tOSU, was the interview conducted before it took place?
