DRESDEN - The wait is over for Ryan Spiker.
Spiker, Tri-Valley's standout two-way lineman, has issued a verbal commitment to play at West Virginia, he confirmed on Tuesday.
He will be a senior for the Scotties, who are coming off consecutive playoff appearances and a Muskingum Valley League championship.
Spiker chose WVU over Michigan State and Indiana. He also had offers from Cincinnati, North Carolina State and Wake Forest, among others. He had 12 Division I offers total.
"I went to their spring practice," Spiker said. "I really like the offensive line coach (David Johnson) and (Head) Coach (Bill) Stewart seems like a really good guy. Just going around campus and all of that, it just kinda stuck out to me. I fit in there."
