List Ohio State as medium interest along with Connecticut, Nevada, and UNLV. The lack of speed sticks out, but his interest list implies he may he some ties back in Ohio and/or Connecticut.

His bother plays for UCONN. Not sure what, if any, connection there is to Ohio State.

His father posts on the Nevada board every now and then. They seem like a good, high character family. The dad really seems to stress academics, as the older son was seriously considering Princeton. Don't really follow recruiting at all, but I'd love to see this kid wearing Scarlet and Gray. Perhaps, the younger son could be next in the Tressel tradition of turning 3* recruits into 1st round draft picks.

I have to be honest and admit nothing would shock me this is the most interesting recruiting season I can remember. If he can show the staff some athleticism and versatility he may have a shot. I told a buddy the other day that we are stocking up on athletes. If the staff sees him as a returnmen that may help his cause. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the kind words. Quincy performed really well at the senior camp, winning the Outstanding SR Running Back Award. We expected him to do well but I can't say we saw that coming. The staff was impressed and let us know it.

It's a numbers game, as you all know, so long shot would be the appropriate word. With that being said our goal was completed. We wanted Quincy to compete against the best players in the world and get coached up by the best staff in the world. Winning that award just shows him that he can compete whenever, wherever, and against whomever, and still be the best player on the field.

It was a win win for all involved.:)

Yes sir, it's also the bottom line.

Not sure what the future holds for him, but what ever it is, he has to go get it. If he really wants Ohio St like he say's, he has to take it. And it won't be easy.:)

I can tell you guys that I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know this kid through his dad over the last year.

If there is one kid in this years class that has gone through more trials in his life with the outlook he has right now, I want to meet him.

Quincy has done everything he can to show schools what he has to offer. I would be confident in saying that this is a kid that is going to contribute on and off the field no matter what. He will do whatever it takes to be successful in life.

I've talked to a few parents of recruits over the many years of following recruiting and I'm not sure there is a kid or family that is more focused on getting the best that college has to offer on and off the field.

I would love nothing more than to see him running out that tunnel on gameday. However, if that doesn't happen with him in S&G, I will root for this kid and follow his college career wherever he ends up.

He is paying dues Clev, no doubt. Right now he is taking two summer school classes plus working out with his team. He is laying it on the line, on and off the field.

As a father, it hurts me when I think about what was taken away from him last year. But, my pride swells up when I see how hard he has worked to overcome his obstacles, with no excuses.

Coaches need film to properly evaluate a player, though running around in shorts and shirts is helpful. It's gonna come down to the wire for him in Sept-Dec, after his first film gets out, but IMO that is when he will receive his blessing for his perseverance.

Thanks for all your support Clev. It means a lot.

As for the 40, he ran a 4.6 in May at our Vegas combine. His starts suck, bottom line. But, for some reason he keeps running away from defenders on the field. On the first day at the UNLV camp last month: 1st carry= 4 yard loss. 2nd carry=4 yard gain. 3rd carry=busts for 35 yard touchdown. Amazing since he hasn't really played in over a year since the 10th grade.

Sept will be huge for Quincy.

Getting close guys, here is the latest

    NevadaPrepReport.com - 2008 Sunrise Southeast Preview

    3. Green Valley

The Gators haven't been an elite team in a while but they are a general shoe-in for the playoffs each year. This season they return a very solid nucleus of players led by quarterback Nick Libonati with many questing to get to the next level. This has the potential to be a big year for the Gators if everything comes together.

For Libonati, he had a solid season last year without making a big splash but also not falling on his face. He is a player with good speed and can put the ball in the right spot for his receivers. This year he has spent a lot of time on the road camping and the experience should pay off with his good set of receivers.

WR Kyle Larimer is a player that should be able to put it together as a senior. He is a legit speedster with solid hands that need a big year to get on the map. The team's out of conference schedule is challenging but it will be a good test. 6-foot-3 Jordan Miller is expected to give him a nice complement to prevent a lot of double team for what should be a good passing attack.

The player that is most anticipated is running back Quincy Bagsby. He is a player with good size and speed that has had a good off-season. With the running style of a big back and good power, Bagsby needs to have a good year to keep teams honest as he tries to replace last year's regular season leading 4A rusher Frank Satterfield.

Along the lines, Green Valley is one of the teams that didn't take much of a hit. Brigham Tauteoli, Brett Rather and Evan Polott return as stars on the front line that has experience working as a group. They should be very effective creating some running room and keeping opposing teams out of Libonati's face this season.

Defensively, all but Libonati will be expected to play a role in what stacks up to be an athletic group. Bagsby and Rather will be keys versus the run as well as lineman Derrick Garrett. As a group, they have the ability to fly to the ball and were surprisingly more physical than expected at the UNLV camp.
Overall, this team has some potential. If the passing game step it up, the running room will be there for Bagsby and this team could be going into the middle of the season undefeated before they face off with Liberty, Silverado and Del Sol. With the hard work put in this summer, this team is ready to impress but they have a tough schedule ahead.

    Channel 3 sports news

Just keeping you guys in the loop. Go to 51 seconds of the newscast to catch a few clips of Q. The season has unfolded very challenging guys. We are first in our division, but are playing terrible football with all the turnovers. Read below for example.

nevadapreps.com - www.nevadapreps.com Gators shake off early miscues, top Coronado

Senior running back Quincy Bagsby extended Green Valley's lead to ten points, scampering 76 yards on the Gators first play from scrimmage in the second half.

Late in the third quarter another Green Valley mistake let Coronado back in the game. Forced to kick from deep in their own territory, Bagsby kneeled down to pick up a low snap. Before he had a chance to kick the ball, referees ruled that his knee had touched the ground.
