'09 MN TE/DE Ra'Shede Hageman (Minnesota Verbal)

Nice Video. Hageman certainly has the tools and is a nice big target in the red zone!! Look at him out there and Stoney as well. Two huge targets in the red zone would be fantastic! Pick your poison boys!!

Shede's high school film reminds me quite a bit of Westerville North/Georgia Tech alumni George Cooper. The thing about that film is that Shede still looks pretty raw, so he's got a ton of potential at the next level. I think our staff could make him a serious weapon, especially with our stable of RBs putting extra bodies in the box and our future WRs and playmakers to draw man coverage or double teams. They would have to account for Shede, or he would make them pay with his hands, size, and athletic ability.

I'd really like to see him in this class because I think he could really bring a lot of practical benefits, but that 6/30 update does not make it sound likely that he'll make a decision anywhere near in-time to be a part of the '09 class.

Hageman made yet another visit to Wisconsin. This time almost solely to get a feel for whether the academic program would fit his needs. Talks about how Wisconsin uses TE's the best of the teams recruiting him. All of his top 4 has a niche.

Sounds like he's basically sold on Wisconsin from a football standpoint. But like OSU fans, I don't think the decision to wait bodes well for my team. We have about half our class completed, and another top TE (Brock Decicco) who is very high on us plans an earlier decision.

For what it's worth, guy posted on Husker Board that he played Hageman last week in a passing league and told the guy that it was down to Florida and Ohio State. I know, a re-post of a rumor, but since Nebraska doesn't have much in this, it could be plausible.
Hey, thanks for passing along that info. Sometimes, rumors like that end up being the best sources of information ... it will be interesting to see if any future articles support that position.

From the OSU site...talks about his summer training and how it takes up most of this time. Says the OSU staff has made him aware of their scholarship situation but he wants to see how OSU does this fall. Talks about his recent trip to Florida and about his interest in the Gators. Also discusses his interest in Wisconsin and how they use their TEs, as well as the in-state Gophers.

????????????????? Two straight NC games. Stronger team than either of those. Are we on the verge of unraveling and I just missed it?
He might mean he wants to see how OSU does using their tight ends this year. As for team success, I agree what else to you really need to see?

Could well be. Although with Pryor as the likely QB next season I'm not sure how much this year will tell you about TE use in the future. Not that we will stand things on their ear, but if there is a change in usage it will be more likely between this year and next as opposed to last year and this.
