Is Ohio State just looking at this kid to get in on Givens. From what i've heard willis isn't quite TOSU caliber. This kid kind of just came out of the blue. I hope this isn't one of those package deals. Not that TOSU would agree to such a thing. I don't think we have a good chance with Givens anyways, he seems like a Miami lean. I do believe we were the first to send him an offer though. That has to count for something.:oh::io:

I don't see Willis getting much more than a token look from OSU and I think Givens ends up at Miami...just my gut, but with plenty of other DBs with offers I won't be upset if we miss out on Givens.

FYI, OSU doesn't do package deals (say what you want about the Boren situation)...if they did, Corey Brown would have an offer as of months ago. When you are trying to recruit top tier talent like the OSU staff is you can't afford to waste a single scholarship.

At least until enough of the top talent you try to recruit go somewhere else, in which case you start dropping down your recruiting list. But you usually don't see that until late in the game.

ESPN - Malcolm Willis Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Football Recruiting 2009

Good range for his size but speed versus faster slots in man-to-man is a concern. Does not show a great burst breaking on the ball in the air when playing zone. Overall, Willis possesses the physical tools, athleticism and aggressiveness for a college coaching staff to mold into a quality defensive player.

ESPN 150 Watch List. I'm a Penn State fan, and we offered Malcolm Willis much earlier than we offered Darrell Givens. J.B. Walton who is at Penn State knows Malcolm Willis and they are friends, I believe Willis said they talk once in a while...I like this offer but hope he can remain at safety if he were to indeed pick Penn State. I don't like the offer as much if he is going to pack on weight and move down to LB.
