Brown's father was "ballistic" that Bryce wasn't man enough to tell Dooley to his face that he's leaving. Brown left town.

The coach confirmed late Friday that he will not be releasing Brown from his scholarship with the Volunteers, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Bryce Brown won't be attending Tennessee this season, but Vols coach Derek Dooley won't release the running back from his scholarship.

If you don't have the decency to meet with the head coach, you are owed nothing from him. I think this is an excellent message being sent about respect and authority figures.Huskerrat;1741135; said:Dooley is being kind of a dick here. Its an 18 year old kid that pledged to play for the former coach who is gone. Release him and let him go to the cow town that is Manhattan.

I don't care how old you are, you should know better then that and handle your affairs. Hopefully this will teach the young man about living up to your commitments and he will hopefully learn from it.

Next time you get a new job just quit showing up at your old one and then try getting a reference.
