It's obviously too early to know exactly what our needs will be and how all of these guys will play, but I am going to take a guess and say this guy will be the most important recruit for OSU next year.

First, he seems like he will be one of, if not the #1, TE in the midwest. Secon, with the way this recruiting class is shaping up to fill all of our major needs but missing out on Rudolph and Koger, a bigtime TE could be a huge need.

This guy's early comments just illustrate everything that is great about what has been going on at OSU lately. As a young kid, I'm sure he looked up to Conley and Oden. Both went to OSU and then were top 5 NBA picks. That has to look good. He knows Matta's reputation. He has been to OSU multiple times and knows we win. The last couple Inidana guys we have taken were relatively unheralded but look to have bigtime futures and should play on Sundays (Larrimore and Donald Washington). He probably watched us destroy Notre Dame. He probably watched all of the NFL first rounders we have had over the last few years.

Anyway, great to see Tressel and Matta have both gone out of their way to show him the love. This could be like last year, while we were missing out on guys like Anthony Davis, Tress was already laying the foundation for Brewster, Shugarts, Adams, and Jenkins. This guy could make us forget Rudolph, Koger and Ayles.

Scout.com: Big Tight End Has Offers

By Allen Trieu
Midwest Recruiting Analyst
Posted Apr 25, 2008

Warren Central is one of Indiana’s top high schools and naturally, it has been a place college recruiters have descended upon. This year, the Warriors have several talented prospects to offer, none of which are as physically impressive as 6’9 tight end Edward Hazelett.

Continued...

“I’m hearing a lot from Ohio State,” he said, “and USC, LSU, Florida and Cincinnati. Boston College offered me, Louisville offered me and so did Kentucky. I was supposed to go to Michigan State’s spring game, but I couldn’t."
