He is bigger than 215...Looked about 230-235 to me...

edit Bob had him listed as 230 in the article after the combine, and the scales were light all day....Many kids were saying that they had been weighing in about 5 lbs heavier at other camps...

BTW might be looking for some movement here...

I'm baffled that guys like Muldoon will wait on an offer and have recruits like this come out of the woodwork.

Maybe Muldoon was told his offer is a lot more firm than what is suggested by those who follow recruiting from the sidelines.

Totally agree. I think some of these recruits are failing to factor in the accelleration of the recruiting process for OSU this year. If a recruit needs to take a bunch of visits to form an opinion, then that process takes some time. But if a guy wants to play for the bucks, and is just enjoying the ride, as far as the recruiting process goes, he might end up holding the bag in the end. I would think guys Like Robinson, Muldoon, Carradine, and Newsome are at most competing for two spots. If additional offers materialize Tank and Rob., it could be first come first served.

yep...can't see such an early in-state offer being in jeopardy. Out-of-state offers are easier to have a little wiggle room but I'm thinking it is bad for business long term at home if you're jerking around early in-state offers.

IMO Muldoon is safe.

Recruiting Combines Front Page

By Bob Lichtenfels

Growing up near Pittsburgh, I remember like anyone else who has followed the Steelers, a long and lanky defensive end with gold shoes named L.C. Greenwood. On Saturday, we saw a defensive end with yellow shoes tear up the Under Armour/Scout.com combine.

Would like to tap into your thinking CBF40:
a) How in tune is the staff to what goes on at these combines?
b) Has anybody seen any amount of film on this guy, and does his high school play any sort of competition?
c) Could a hesitancy to seriously pursue Robinson in this case be a hint as to just how we stand with Muldoon and Newsome?
d) I quess the first question should have been about grades, would he Qualify?
e) Is your take that this guy is a football player, or just a "combine warrior?

The interest from my part is that if this guy is legit, he has unbelievable upside. The Nfl works out players at their combine the way they do because their tests are a way to measure explosiveness and athleticism . In this area Robinson is Vernon Golston like off the charts. If he has the game and the desire, he could be a legitimate star at defensive end. I've never seen the guy, and obviously their could be a huge hole in this scenario. But it sounds like the freakish athletic ability is there. I wonder if Mich wishes it would have paid a bit more attention to the freakish athleticism of Big Vern when they had him in the back yard.

Would appreciate the input from any of you guys that really study recruiting.

They have an idea of what goes on...Some staffs have guys they call at scout/rivals about these events on a weekly basis...As far as tOSU, I didn't hear much chatter in terms of guys communicating with them...

b) Has anybody seen any amount of film on this guy, and does his high school play any sort of competition?

No idea

c) Could a hesitancy to seriously pursue Robinson in this case be a hint as to just how we stand with Muldoon and Newsome?

For me personally and most that have an idea are not worried about Muldoon and Newsome, there was some chatter that there was movement or would be movement with Robinson, which I think has nothing to do with the two guys listed above, but chances would not be high for him even with an offer...Has ties to some southern schools...

d) I quess the first question should have been about grades, would he Qualify?

From seeing him he looks like a football player, has good feet, good use of his hands and arms in getting off blocks, and his speed, agilty, and athleticism is just something you don't see much of from a DE...

Like I mentioned above not sure on how muc of a chance we would have here...But he can play anywhere IMHO...

From the Alabama site...the Tide have offered, joining Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Purdue and thinks UGA is close. Will camp at Auburn and Alabama and talks about growing up in the south.
