As a junior, Mike Marry was named First team All-County, and was also an All-state honorable mention after recording an amazing 152 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovered. He benches 245 pounds and says he can squat 375.

As a sophomore Marry had 76 tackles playing at 6-2, 162 pounds, but has since put on 50 pounds and is a much improved player.

Partial senior (8-1) stats: 75 tackles and seven sacks.

Marry says he's considering majoring in either engineering or sports medicine. He reports a 3.7 core GPA and a 940 SAT, which he plans on retaking.

Marry: "I go hard on every play. I have a lot of hustle and never give up. I can read the plays well and fly to the ball.

"I want to work on staying low and improve everything about my game."

Who else is involved?

"I get a lot of calls from everybody. West Virginia and Ohio State also came by the school this week."

What did they say?

"They want me to try and line something up in January, for me to come up there."

Probably a shot in the dark but maybe someone they are looking at as a backup plan to Dion Sims? I have no idea...just guessing...

Maybe the staff was just checking in for the heck of it...who knows. Either way, Scout now has him at 6-3 220...and over 20 BCS offers. The kid was really looking at Iowa State and Coach Chizik so I wouldn't be surprised to see Auburn get involved late here.

Honestly I know nothing about this kid other than what I posted above...I just found it interesting (and possibly thread-worthy) that the OSU staff was in to see him. Like I said, might have been nothing more than a courtesy call but might be something worth watching.

I asked someone more familiar with that area where he plays and it might not be out of the realm of possibilities for the Buckeyes, but they'd have to go after him a lot stronger at this point.
