'09 AL DB Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama Signee)

A few years ago Mich. got Max Martin out of Alabama, and I think they had some punt returner committed the next year before kicking him loose. So I guess it is theoretically possible to get an Alabama kid to look up north. Having said that, I won't be following Dre's recruitment with any thought that we could get him.
Marquis Maze?

Still though, even w/o Dre, we have Barnett sewn up right now at CB and Wood at Safety. We have plenty of legit blue-chip options right now in Justin Turner, E.J. Banks, Brandon McGee and Darrell Givens, among others. I am sure it was a token offer to throw our hat in the ring, but we will be fine. Woul dbe GREAT though if Dre takes a hard look at us.

DJ Hunter is starting to put together an impressive offer list as well...lots of great CB/S targets with McGee, Turner, Marc, Banks, Givens, White, Edwards, Freeman, etc.

Max Martin moved to Alabama from Chicago during his freshman year of HS, so he grew up watching Michigan and Notre Dame football. As for Marquis Maze, his interest in Michigan lasted only until Alabama and Tennessee started showing him love. Alabama kids are really hard to get with the pressure the two in-state rivals put on them.

Clemson already has stacked the deck at safety with two major commitments. The Tigers also are looking for more quality corners, and that has them in the mix with DB Dre Kirkpatrick (6-3 190) of Gadsden, AL. Clemson recruiter Dabo Swinney was at Kirkpatrick's school the week before last. "I have a good feeling and relationship with the coaches at Clemson," Kirkpatrick said. "Coach Dabo is real down to earth. And the position coach is real down to earth. Coach Bowden, I really like him. They are one of my favorite schools right now. But I'm not going to commit (anywhere) early. But, if I feel like the time is right, and I feel like this is the school that's going to five me the perfect opportunity, I'll commit." Kirkpatrick has over 40 offers. He won't trim his list to a top ten until the end of his season. "My parents are waiting to meet the head coaches," he said. Among the other schools that have been by this spring are Alabama, Iowa, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Southern Cal, Texas, Oregon, Kentucky and LSU. Kirkpatrick said he will camp at Texas in June, and he plans to visit Clemson, Southern Cal, Michigan, Miami and the local schools.
