Oregon is next stop for Kyle Long

Saddleback College (Mission Viejo, Calif.) offensive tackle Kyle Long, the son of NFL Hall of Fame defensive lineman Howie Long and younger brother of St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long, has committed to play for Oregon, multiple sources report.

Kyle, a 6-foot-7, 290-pounder, was also recruited by Auburn, Arkansas, UCLA, USC, Florida State, Utah, Washington State, Tennessee and Southern Methodist during this recruiting cycle.

He originally committed to play baseball at Florida State in 2008 out of St. Anne's-Belfield (Charlottesville, Va.) despite being rated as an ESPNU 150 football prospect.

The kid is built like Fragel, someone with very little body fat. Long's stats were pretty impressive today. Hopefully it will translate well for him in the NFL.
