Take your pick: Greg Monroe or Tyreke Evans. Either one would can stake a strong claim, at this point, to being the top prospect in the class. Monroe is the future, the guy who has the talent, ability and upside with room to grow. He went from prospect to player this past summer and enjoyed every minute of it.

Evans is the now. He?s the kid capable of the huge scoring number who can go out there and torch a defender for 40 points in the blink of an eye. He was banged up this summer and we didn?t get to see him on top of his game. There?s absolutely no shame in being No. 2 and like we said, a case could still be made for his candidacy at the top. He probably feels like there?s some unfinished business coming out of the summer so expect a monster junior season.

From the Peach Jam:

Tyreke Evans, SG, Aston (Pa.) American Christian

AAU Team: Team Final
Peach Jam Stats (event rank): 23.4 points per game (3), 3.6 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game

Very difficult to guard off the dribble, Evans proved impossible to guard when he had his long range jumper falling.

A rhythm shooter, who is best off the dribble, Evans gets defenders on their heels and then leans back for the three. When defenders lunge forward to prevent the jumper, Evans rips right by them to the basket. Also an electric passer, Evans is a threat to deliver an assist pass from anywhere on the court.

His big basket after big basket in a heartbreaking two point loss to the Mean Streets Express was a sight to behold.

Longshot but there are rumors that the Buckeyes are getting involved...wouldn't have created a thread on him if there wasn't some interest.

Agreed, but the fact that we even got our foot in the door would of been an amazing step b4 Matta, now it has turned into a if we get this guy who are we going to turn away...
