Is it fair to say that where Tino ends up receiving offers from hinges in large part on his Senior season?

Who knows, it might be somewhere very different from the schools in which he presently expresses interest.

Sorta...I see Chris Smith from last year...football player for sure, just not a prototype or enough of a gamebreaker to take a chance.

Sunseri Lets Spurrier Get A Good Look

By Phil Kornblut
QB Tino Sunseri (6-2 200) of Pittsburgh was one of the prospects on hand Friday to watch USC's scrimmage at Williams Brice Stadium. Sunseri, who was joined by his father, Carolina Panthers defensive line coach Sal Sunseri, spent about five hours on the campus. "I went and toured the campus and saw all the places...the dorms, the Horseshoe, the coaches office." Sunseri said one of the reasons for the visit was to give Gamecock head coach Steve Spurrier and quarterbacks coach David Reaves the chance to see him in person. "They wanted to check out my size," he said. "It proved I was a true 6-2. I stood next to coach Spurrier and I was taller than he was. They want to see me throw up in Pittsburgh." Sunseri has not been offered by the Gamecocks. "They are going to take their time and go thru the spring and offer one guy either in the spring or during the season," Sunseri said. He has offers from Florida State, Louisville, Southern Miss and Buffalo. He is also getting interest from Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Alabama, Tennessee and Ohio State. He attended junior day at Florida State and will go to the Elite 11 camp in Atlanta in two weeks. Sunseri said he does not have any favorites at this point.

Sunseri Makes His Decision

By Phil Kornblut
QB Tino Sunseri (6-2 200) of Pittsburgh, who had drawn substantial recruiting interest from USC but no offer, has committed to Louisville. "I had been thinking real hard about it because I wanted to get the decision out of the way," Sunseri said. "My parents said it would be perfectly fine with them for me to go to Louisville. It's definitely going to be a final decision on my part. I'm throwing all my mail away and telling everyone I'm committed." Sunseri also had offers from Florida State, Southern Miss, South Florida and Buffalo.

Will be interesting to see how Sunseri fits in with the new Louisville staffers. Probably the most intriguing thing about his recruitment is that FSU offered him, along with Buffalo, USF, Southern Miss and of course LV. Still, I think Tino's offer sheet tells us a lot about where FSU is these days, although I'm sure they'll still get their top 15 class as usual. Either that, or they just see something in him that all the majors don't.

WPIAL Football Playoffs: Shanahan, Sunseri rethink colleges

Meanwhile, Sunseri, a 6-1, 200-pound quarterback, made a verbal commitment in the spring to the University of Louisville. But he also had a change of heart in the past few weeks and reopened his recruiting. Pitt and Boston College recently offered scholarships to Sunseri, and he plans to make an official visit to Boston College.

"The recruiting is on your mind during the week," Shanahan said. "But whenever the kickoff comes Friday night, the recruiting stuff just goes all away. You don't think of anything else but the game and the task at hand."
