BJ recently received offers from Syracuse, Pitt, Stanford, Nebraska, and Michigan St. He has a tentative top 5 of Stanford, Syracuse, Maryland, Georgia Tech and West Virginia or Illinois.

Your boy is blowing up Wes...
Anyone else notice that Nebraska is offering a TON of OH kids this year?

Still a dark horse for an offer in my book...if he doesn't get one he may end up being one of those kids who blows up at some all-star game next year and we wonder why he didn't get an offer (ala Chris Givens). Nebraska could end up with a heck of a LB haul from Ohio if they are able to land Machen and Rippy.

Syracuse is going to go after him hard, just as they are Steve Gardiner.

Syracuse is going to have their work cut out for them...he specifically mentions wanting to play somewhere warm in the update below.

From the Georgia Tech site...visited Georgia Tech this past week (has family in Atlanta and is cousins with GT safety DeRon Jasper). BJ's father played at Stanford and his grandfather played at Illinois (where he visited a few weeks ago). Also recently visited Stanford, Maryland, Syracuse, Pitt, West Virginia, Duke and N.C. State.

Players unsure about commitment to Tech | ajc.com

Neither Taylor, Pridemore, Hawkinsville defensive back Kamaron Riley or Hilliard, Ohio, linebacker B.J. Machen said they were backing out of commitments. Yet none said they were certain to honor pledges, either.

They had not heard from Tech coaches Monday evening, but had either heard from Radakovich or received a message from him within hours of Gailey's firing.

Riley, who committed June 12 and is in line to follow recent Hawkinsville High players Robert Hall, Trey Dunmon and Jim Henry to Tech, said, "It's still the same to me. It affects me a little bit, but not too much. I like the people. I would like to see the rest of the coaching staff [retained].

"The athletic director called while I was at basketball practice, and left a message. He just told me about what had happened, and that they'll move on and try to provide a better football program."

Machen, who commited July 5, said he didn't know if his plans will change.

"I don't know the answer to that yet," he said. "Me and my dad just got to talk about it, and my family needs to talk about it. I'm supposed to [make an official visit] in January. I kind of committed to both [Gailey and Tech]. I like coach Gailey, and I liked what the school has to offer.
