'08 OH C Kenny Frease (Xavier Signee)

Frease is a good player who is still developing the quickness he will need at the next level, but its a numbers game for him at tOSU. With Mullens already in the class, I wouldn't look for an offer from tOSU, especially when you think about the fact we will have not only Mullens, but Koufos and possibly Oden on the roster.

Stranger things have happened though, this is recruiting after all. :wink2:

I really do not understand why Frease is so high on Xavier. Nothing against the university, it is just that it is a mid major (high end of mid major). The confrence they play in doesn't compare the elite confrences. You would think a player who is in the top 25 (Frease 22) would want to play in the Big 10, ACC, Big East. If you look at the rankings the kids who are in the top 100 aren't even going to A 10 schools. Kids who are in the top 25 are kids who can come in to these major confrences and contribute early. I hope we end up offering Frease, but if not I hope he doesn't sell himself short. I mean look at the schools who are looking at him hard OSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, Illinois, North Carolina, Indiana, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, UCONN, Georgia Tech, again this is not a knock on the university, but they are not on the level of these other teams.

Nothing against this poster, but I don't understand why people have trouble understanding that a student-athlete just might prefer a given campus, curriculum, coaching staff, or whatever. Everybody's priorities are different.

Kenny is in the top 35 in both rankings right now... Is it possible that we pass on a guy this good because of our depth with big men?

Its likely to happen at this point...I really like Frease and have been singing his praises since early in his sophmore year. Its just a matter of having to many quality big men and not enough spots.

MY take to. Some of my buddies that played college BB say nothing but, great things about him. How would you compare his game to Mullens?

Frease is a banger who will do most of his damage inside. Mullens has the complete package, he has the feet and is developing into an elite player. Its like comparing a ferrari and a porsche. Both are quality players but I believe Mullens has the most potential.

thxs .
Never seen Mullens play at all so I had no idea but, always heard great things about him. I'm just stuck on Frease being a buckeye somehow but, it doesn't sound like it will happen

Personally, I don't see Oden staying a third year for the 08 season. Also, I wonder if Koufos lights it up in 07 whether he would consider turning pro. Under either situation, I wonder if it would open the door for Frease.

Personally, I'd love to bring Frease in and redshirt him. That would give us serious depth at the 5 w/ Dallas, BJ & Kenny.

If Koufos went pro, that would leave another spot for a guard, or perhaps Gates at the 4.

2008-09 squad

1 - Conley, Crater
2 - Diebler, Offutt, Buford
3 - Lighty, Turner,
4 - Koufos, Madsen, Roe
5 - Lauderdale, Mullens, Frease

Now your just being greedy..

Give me....Mullens, Offutt, Roe, Buford and Crater.

Never say never in the recruiting world. If he doesn't land in Columbus, some program is going to get a quality player.
