Top '08 OLB Marcus Witherspoon lands with Rutgers
Marcus Witherspoon, who originally signed with Michigan this past February, is now ready to suit up for the Scarlet Knights, the Press of Atlantic City reports.
Witherspoon left Ann Arbor, Mich. after it appeared he wouldn't qualify but took an online course and became eligible. After returning to Michigan, Witherspoon was still not allowed to play for the Wolverines.
He said of the situation, "I wouldn't have it happen any other way. I'd rather be somewhere where everything is going to go well."
"It was hard. But I have no hard feelings toward Michigan. We just decided to move on."
"I'm blessed. They (Rutgers) won't regret it. I'm so happy," Witherspoon concluded.
