'08 MI CB Boubacar Cissoko (Michigan signee)

U-M boots CB Cissoko off team | Detroit Free Press | Freep.com

Sophomore cornerback Boubacar Cissoko has been kicked off the Michigan football team, his high school coach, Thomas Wilcher of Detroit Cass Tech, said tonight.

"He missed class, missed workouts," said Wilcher, who said he spoke to a U-M assistant coach and Cissoko today. "Now he's got to make something, because he blew it."

Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez released this statement: "Boubacar Cissoko has been dismissed for a violation of team rules."

Can you imagine an Ohio State coach ever EVER talking about a player like that?

"He can't handle it here" "No kid is ever bigger than the program."

It's totally unprofessional of these coaches. They're hurting Booboo's chances of getting a shot somewhere else. (not that he automatically deserves it, but I'm just pointing out the difference between the Ohio State coaches and those shithead coaches up north).

Frankly this kid was way over-rated. Watching him in the AA-bowl game getting torched repeatedly....couldn't help but think that this kid was over-rated by Scout....which gave him a 5-star rating if I remember right. Time and time again this year he got picked on by offenses, and got burnt for TDs. I don't think TSUN is gonna miss much here.....I guess it frees up a schollie for them. Does he transfer to WVU now?

Floyd demolished him that game and did the same to him in college.

Marlin Jackson just called. He remembers the days at scUM you could smash a bottle over a kid's head and only miss a half.

While you were on the phone with Marlin, Justin Feagin called and he remembers the days when you could sell coke and not miss anything.

Best of luck to  wherever he ends up.

It was his HS coach.

Yep...and to be honest I don't mind it. Cissoko screwed up and his HS coach called him for it. There's nothing wrong with being brutally honest...often it's exactly what a kid needs to get his head on straight.

I'd much rather have those statements than have the former coach making excuses & acting as a facilitator for Cissoko's behavior.

A former University of Michigan cornerback is accused of attempting to rob a cab driver Sunday and stealing money from two food deliverymen last month, Ann Arbor police said.
Boubacar Cissoko, 20, who was kicked off the team in October, was arraigned this afternoon at the Washtenaw County Jail on a charge of assault with intent to rob while armed and two counts of larceny from a person.
Ann Arbor police say a driver for Blue Cab picked up Cissoko at The 5th Quarter, a bar on South Fifth Avenue, and agreed to give him a ride to the 600 block of Packard Street early Sunday.

Michigan's Boubacar Cissoko is shown in this file photo taken during the first half of the Wolverine's 2009 season opener 31-7 win.

When the cab neared Packard and Mary streets about 12:20 a.m., Cissoko pointed a pellet gun at the driver and demanded money, Det. Sgt. Brian Jatczak said. The pellet gun looked like a real handgun, Jatczak said.
?The cab driver resisted and said he was gonna call the police, and the suspect got out of the cab and ran,? Jatczak said.
University of Michigan police spotted Cissoko five minutes later in the 500 block of Thompson Street and arrested him. He was taken to Ann Arbor police headquarters and was questioned by detectives, police said.
Police say they were able to link Cissoko to two thefts March 13 from food deliverymen in less than a 90-minute span. Investigators say Cissoko snatched money from the hand of a deliveryman for Mr. Spot's about 12:11 a.m. in the 600 block of Mary Court. The deliveryman was dropping off an order of Philly cheese steaks. Cissoko also is accused of grabbing money from the hand of a deliveryman for Cottage Inn about 1:37 a.m. in the 900 block of Greenwood Avenue, which is in the same area. That deliveryman was dropping off pizza.
Police say Cissoko would have food delivered, then ask for change for a large bill, which required the deliverymen to go back to their businesses to get it. When they returned, Cissoko would reach into his pocket or otherwise pretend he was going to pay, then snatch cash from the deliverymen and run away, police said.
Cissoko was dismissed from the team after violating unspecified team rules twice in 2009.
This is the third time he's been arrested in less than a year.

Ex-Wolverine Boubacar Cissoko pleads guilty in robberies | themichiganview.com | The Michigan View
Ann Arbor -- Boubacar Cissoko, once perceived as the cornerback who would help solidify the Michigan defense, faces a maximum of 45 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to four robbery charges in Washtenaw County Circuit Court.
"I had a pellet gun, when he pulled up in the back of the building," Cissoko, 22, testified about robbing a taxicab driver April 18 in Ann Arbor. "I put the gun in his face.
"I looked at his face. He was really scared," he testified, about deciding to abort the robbery. "Then, I left on my own free will."

Charged originally with attempting to rob the driver while armed, Cissoko pled guilty to a lesser charge of assault with intent to rob, which carries a 15-year sentence. He also admitted three charges of larceny from a person. Cissoko testified that he lured pizza and sandwich delivery men to his door in Ann Arbor March 13 and snatched wads of cash from their hands, as they made change for his purchase. The third larceny occurred in Ypsilanti, when Cissoko snatched cash from another cabbie.
