'08 CA S E.J. Woods (UCLA signee)

After getting a chance to see his Rivals video, I am all for an offer.

This guy just plays 100% all the time. He's a sure tackler. His running back video shows his agility and field awareness(important for a safety/linebacker).

If we're taking a safety this year, this is who I want. This isn't meant to disrespect McCarthy who I've seen firsthand, it's just I think this type of safety is more needed, since I see McCarthy as being a Clifford type of safety.

I love this guy's game though. I really hope an offer comes his way.

Coudl be a kid that just got excited from everyone else on the trip committing...

I am reallly hoping that the staff made contact about giving him an offer...

When I saw he decommitted, I went to the UCLA scout board, and someone posted that Ohio State coaches called him after they found out he committed and asked him to put it off for a while. I guess he's also borderline academically right now, so he's going to wait until he experiences the recruiting process more and gets his grades together before finally deciding.

I guess he does have UCLA as a clear number one, but I'm not sure how an Ohio State offer would change that.

Scouts Grade: 83 '08 Woods re-opens recruiting process
E.J. Woods, who verballed to UCLA along with seven other juniors last weekend, is no longer committed to the Bruins - but also has not completely decommitted from them, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

Reportedly, other schools recruiting Woods, such as Ohio State and Miami-FL, urged him to open back up after learning of his weekend commitment. Additionally, Woods must improve his academic standing in order to gain acceptance into UCLA.

Ultimately, the Bruins are still in a good position with Woods. He said, "UCLA stands No. 1. I still have to get into school there, so I have to pick my grades up. If I get into the school, I'm going there. I'm looking at other things just in case. We'll be signing that letter if I'm accepted into the school."

Woods previously cited the importance placed on academics by UCLA and its coaching staff as a reason for his commitment.
