'07 PA WR Toney Clemons (Michigan escapee)

Anybody else starting to think Toney just might be the #1 receiver prospect in the nation? Greg Little, Junior Hemingway, Arrelious Benn, Deonte Thompson, Greg Davis, Duval Kamara, and Lansford Watson are obviously also a part of the discussion, but I think Toney just might be the best. Toney certainly has the "wow" factor and has a very good combination of size, speed, quickness, leaping ability, and is a great all-around athlete.

I really don't know. It's a very good year for receivers in my opinion, lots of good ones out there. None that really make my jaw-drop, blink-twice, and say oh my god though.

It's funny, you'd think a kid as good as Clemons would be getting alot more attention from not only the Rivals and Scout national sites and Top 100 lists (he's not eithers early Top 100's), but also their Penn State, Pitt, and Pennsylvania high school preps sites. Oh well. I guess when you have a kid from PA like Clemons who hasn't shown much interest in Penn State and to a smaller extent Pitt, that's what'll happen. Pat Bostick is on all of those Top 100 lists though, and he's being billed as the #1 player in the state of PA. Is Bostick good? Sure. Is he as good as some of the "gurus" from PA are trying to say he is? I honestly don't think so. Along with Clemons, I'd also take Nick Sukay over Bostick.

When word spread that track star Mycaiah Clemons was transferring from Virginia Tech to Pitt, it didn't take long for Internet message boards to do the mathematics. That means Toney Clemons now has two sisters at Pitt (Mycah Clemons will be a senior) and puts the Panthers in the lead for the Valley stud receiver. Right?
"Everyone keeps asking me about him coming to Pitt," Mycah Clemons said. "I can't influence him. He has a lot of options. He's got to make his own decisions."
Clemons, who won the PIAA Class AA long jump and 110-meter high hurdles titles Saturday, said he has scholarship offers from Pitt, Akron, Cincinnati, Colorado, Connecticut, Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue.

"I hear other schools are close," Toney Clemons said, "but the ones that offer early, those are the ones who want you." As for his family influence, Clemons doesn't deny that he comes from a tight-knit family, but added that Michigan receiver Steve Breaston (Woodland Hills) is a cousin.
"People say 'Pitt' because of what my sisters are doing," Toney Clemons said. "But there's a lot of dudes who say, 'Get away.' They know location is not a factor to me and that I have friends and family all over the country."

Well I guess we are out of these sweepstakes.

Why havent we offered Clemons and Sukay??? We need a couple wide recievers in this class, and I dont think we have offered any other than Aaron Johnson...
