Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 215 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.6 seconds
Bench max: 300 pounds
Vertical leap: 31 inches
GPA: 3.71

BSB$ 5/1

Steve has rushed for 3,300 yards in two seasons despite suffering torn ligaments in his ankle last season. He also stars as a linebacker and may end up on that side of the ball in college. He holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia, Iowa, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

My Take: Steve is a hardnosed football player with good speed and a tenacious style. The Rivals clips only show him at RB where he is impressive with good feet, explosion, and lateral movement, but I am interested in seeing the defensive clips.

Wow, I wasnt in the loop on this one, but I know alot of michigan posters thought they had the inside track with Steve.
they didn't know what they were talking about. The kid was begging for a ND offer from the start. If he didn't get it he would have ended up at Pitt. The thing about him is, where does he play? He's got solid speed, but not the type of speed to play OLB for ND (at least their scheme). If he gains weight and maintains his speed he could be a pretty good ILB. Not sure where I'd put him.

Ok, it just seemed every mock class they had listed, they had him listed, so I just assumed he was leaning there.

THE SKINNY: Two years ago, Paskorz became one of the few sophomores to make the Post-Gazette Fabulous 22. Rushed for more than 2,000 yards as a sophomore, but was slowed last year by an ankle injury and had "only" 1,291 yards on 160 attempts. Has 3,478 career yards. Had offseason surgery on the ankle and believes he could have another big season. Was recruited by colleges as both a linebacker and running back. Rivals.com ranks him the No. 17 "athlete" player in the country. Paskorz is a former national Punt, Pass and Kick champion.

COLLEGE TALK: Paskorz made a verbal commitment to Notre Dame in the spring, turning down offers from Pitt, Michigan, Virginia and Iowa, among others. Notre Dame plans to use him as a linebacker, but Paskorz said coach Charlie Weis also wants to give him a try at running back.

FAVORITE FOOD: "Any type of chicken."

golddot.gif
LAST CONCERT ATTENDED: "I've never been to a concert."

golddot.gif
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM STEVE PASKORZ THIS SEASON?: "My ankle is a lot stronger and I have that burst of speed back again. I'm able to cut. My speed may not be totally where it was, but as the season goes on it will progressively get better. I plan on being the old Steve Paskorz. I might even start out the season as the old Steve Paskorz."

golddot.gif
HOW GOOD CAN HAMPTON BE?: "It all depends on how hard we work. We're really lacking the size that we had last year, so it all depends on how hard we work in practice."

golddot.gif
PERSON YOU'D MOST LIKE TO MEET: "Carmen Electra. She's a beautiful lady."

golddot.gif
PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT YOU...? "Hunt and fish. I'm an outdoors type of person."
