'07 OH S/LB Diauntae Morrow (Iowa Verbal)

IMO he would be a huge pickup for a school like IU. I think with there being guys in the state like Oliver, Clifford, Torrence, Arnold that he gets overlooked. He also gets overshawdoed by Oliver being on his team. He could also grow into a nice OLB at a school like IU.

Thursday, November 09, 2006

The lowdown: Morrow is one of the most gifted defensive players in the area, excelling as a safety and an outside linebacker. The 6-1, 185-pound senior has narrowed his college choices to Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia and Bowling Green. Morrow and the Eagles are preparing for Saturday's 5 p.m. regional-semifinal showdown with Warren Harding at Cleveland Browns Stadium.
You had an outstanding performance against Brush in last year's regional semifinals at Browns Stadium. What did that mean to you? "It was a great feeling, not just because I played well, but because I helped the team win. And it was exciting to be in an NFL stadium, where so many of your favorite players play."
How did you benefit from taking part in Glenville coach Ted Ginn Sr.'s bus tour to college camps this past summer? "Along with the exposure at the colleges, I was able to create a bond with players, players I normally wouldn't have a chance to meet. Two weeks on a bus also helped me mature as a person. Coach Ginn is like family. I've know him ever since I started playing football."
You describe yourself as a person with a laid-back, fun-loving approach to life. What about on the field? "I'm completely different. I listen to rap music before the game to get the energy going and then on the field, I'm big on leadership and intensity."
. Have they helped you put in perspective the attention that comes with being a nationally ranked team and the top#-#ranked team in the area? -RD%>How does it feel being a nationally ranked team and the top-ranked team in the area? "Personally, I like the bull's-eye. I use it as motivation. It's an honor when people say you're No. 1. You want to go out and prove that you're really that good."
And how about Saturday's matchup with Ohio State recruit Dan Herron? "He's very good, maybe the best back we will have faced this season, except when we beat up on Frank in practice," Morrow said of Eagles all-state tailback Frank Edmonds.
