Dover (OH)

Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 200 pounds

2006 - High School Football:
Coaches Comments: “His arm is very strong. He is a drop back quarterback that will beat you with his arm. He will definitely have one of the strongest arms in the state. He is also a standout baseball player that can throw the ball 90 miles per hour. He would like to play both sports in college.” Dover Head Coach Dan Ifft

Interested in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin.

From the fans at Dover: A nice looking prospect but his stats are a product of the system. Has eye-popping stats but they throw the ball every down. Could end up being a D1 prospect though I would say.

I believe his name is actually spelled Perci.

In 11 games last autumn, Perci threw for over 4000 yards and I think over 40 TD.

His teammate, WR Danny Ifft was the QB the year before and threw for 3000+ yards. Ifft had something like 1800 yards and 20 TD this year receiving.

Not so fast my friend, while Perci is a great high school QB, don't base everything on stats.

Ben Mauk threw for 70+ TD and 6,700 yards in 15 games. He just finished his third year at Wake Forest and has yet to do much.

Stats are not that big of a deal when it comes to recruiting. It's more of an icing on the cake type thing.

Recruiting is more about size, speed, strength and ability. Great stats and playing for a winning program just makes it that much better.

the team web page and every article from the Canton Rep lists his name as Percy.

40 tds in 11 games tOSU has to get this guy.

again, remember a lot of that is due to the system he played in...sort of like when Ben Mauk was around. great player but not nearly as good as his number might have lead one to believe.

A little off topic Cav, but my team and your cavs were the only team to beat them that year.

As for Perci, I would think he is a system qb.

Agreed - remember Robby S was an Elite 11 but had pretty abysmal numbers in high school. But those numbers were a product of the St. X system - i.e. run it dows their throats and throw at last resort. So while those numbers are pretty impressive, and I def think we should take a look at this kid, its not THE determining factor. IMO

No comments on his grip of the football in the first photo? There was some Canadian quarterback (who also happened to be black, not that it matters) who gripped the ball like that. Vince Evans, I believe. Pretty rare to see a non-lace grip, isn't it?
