'07 OH OL/DL Antonio Jeremiah (Michigan State signee)

Dispatch

Hilliard Darby coach Paul Jenne, who has coached at schools of varying sizes, doesn?t like to use players on offense and defense. But some wonder how, with a major-college recruit such as 6-foot-6, 305-pound defensive tackle Antonio Jeremiah, who might be a huge asset in Darby?s wing-T offense, Jenne can allow him to sit on the bench for half the game.
"You don?t want to rob Peter to pay Paul," Jenne said. "Whatever time Antonio would spend playing offense would certainly take away from his effectiveness on defense, and we want him at 100 percent there."

Rivals $

9/29/06

From the Michigan State site...list includes Jeremiah, Barksdale, Everson, RoJo, Matas, Peake and Mason Robinson.

I am posting this for two reasons...1) the MSU Rivals people must be living in the clouds to think they are in contention for guys like Barksdale and RoJo...and 2) If you read the part about Jeremiah and/or Peake, I think it is pretty unprofessional...it's like they are hoping Antonio reads it and gets his feelings hurt. Most players like Jeremiah and Jefferson and Hines are well aware of where they stand with OSU and are comfortable waiting to see what happens. This articles makes it sound like the kids should be ashamed or something...

I look for him to be a late addition to the '07 class if he can get his grades up, much like Browning was a year ago.

Browning was a 4.0 student, so grades were not an issue.

Browning was a late offeree due to talent/weight issues, which were resolved in his favor during his senior season.

I was aware he was a good student in high school, I compared Jeremiah to Browning because I feel he will also be a late addition to this class after he can resolve some of his problems during his senior year of high school. Jeremiah needs to work on his grades, Browning needed to work on weight issues.

Antonio has been selected to play in the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. He is still listing Wisconsin, Ohio State, Minnesota, Michigan State and Louisville (all offered except OSU).
