We are family
Rolf figured he was heading out west, possibly to Oregon and closer to his mother in Utah. But the Ducks wanted him to grayshirt. Not wanting to report late to delay his eligibility from starting until next season, he elected to stay closer to Piqua.
Going to Ball State lets him compete for a linebacker spot right away.
"Coach (Hoke) made me feel like family," said Rolf, who received offers from all the MAC schools. "Even though I have family out there (in Utah) it felt like I was leaving something (here)."
Rolf said he and David tossed around the idea of going to the same college. But that wasn't the driving force. Still, Ball State has already offered David.
