'07 OH DE/TE Eric Thomas (Indiana signee)

I think OL, which could be tough to get him in here at this point, b/c we have some big names we are looking at.

I think if he could develop a pair of hands he might make a nice TE, but then you have to wonder on his speed.

He is a heckuva a player, but at this point in time he is a tweener and would be a mid-level big ten player. Now this could change if he had some nice camp performances and a good showing in his season.

Earlier in the thread I compared him to a Kenny Peterson DT Clone. Remember him, Ken Dorsey will. I'll stick with it, based on the one game i saw I think we should get him an offer ASAP.

Michigan Rivals - 02/21/06

Eric attended Michigan's Junior Day last month, and will also go to Ohio State's later this month. He plans to camp at Ohio State, Michigan, and Miami.

His current favorites are Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami, and Illinois.

Ok well let me put it this way, if he pans out on the d side of the ball I think there are guys higher than him on the board and we are heavy at d-line position.

If he is recruited as an o-line then I think he is a mid-level big ten recruit.

TE would be the only position where I think we would pursue hard, but he would have to impress, and show he can catch the ball and get open.

Also I would go more with schools like Iowa, MSU, Minny, which arent bad schools, but not tOSU and Michigan.

I was not overly impressed with him on the available films...however, he has had some good reviews from folks who have seen him in person. I will always defer to them, but right now, Eric is not a major target on my list.

I think it is mainly because I see Thomas as a potential TE. Hubbard is about the only TE in OH I see above Thomas (maybe Bruton) and I don't see him ending up in Columbus. If an offer goes in-state to TE it probably comes down to Thomas, Bruton and Zach Clark, and they all have similar measurables. If Thomas shines at camp, I think we see an offer.

I must say that I can't agree with your opinion on Hubbard wad. I can honestly see him ending up at tOSU. Just a gut feeling on your part about Hubbard, or have you heard something?

Well I agree with you that the place he would get an offer would be TE, but he is going to have to really impress and show he has the hands and blocking ability to garner that offer.

Not to get too far off topic, But I was really really impressed with Hubbard in his film against Massilon. He made great catches.

Eric still only has offers from West Virginia, Miami OH, and Cincinnati. His top five is tOSU, Michigan, WVU, Miami FL, and LSU, with tOSU as his favorite. He will camp at tOSU and WVU. Eric says he is being recruited as a DE.

I can't help it...I still really like this kid. I still think he can make an impact. He could come in like Coleman, Barton and Miller have...a possible TE/OT.
