'07 OH DE/TE Eric Thomas (Indiana signee)

this kid is a specimen...I hope we are able to get him and Martin as a pair of bookend DEs next year. Add D'Andrea and Wade in the middle and that would be a sick DL class.

thomas reminds me a bit of Rob Rose...little bit taller and not as heavy yet but a great frame to either stay outside or slide down inside on the line.

That would just be crazy. Hopefully they all make grades and pan out to be what we all think they will.

In the November 2005 Ohio High, DL says that Thomas has the most impressive physique of anyone in Ohio behind Robert Rose. This kid is going to be a beast...and if for some reason we miss out on Martin, I will be very happy pif we go hard after Thomas.

Man anyway you slice it, the D-line prospects look to be more than stellar next year. I think we could easily take 4 really good ones.

Thomas is hearing from tOSU, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, scUM, Miami, Boston College, Pitt, and Illinois are the main ones. Says he is looking hard at tOSU. He is also looking at scUM, ND, and Wisconsin. He will attend JR. Days at tOSU, Pitt, and ND.

I like this kid's size...I really hope he gets an offer. I think he could end up at DT at his size. All he needs is another 25-30 pounds over the next few years on that frame and hopefully keeps the 4.8 speed.

I agree. According to Duane, he has said before that he thinks Eric is a sure-fire top 10 in the state next year. I'm sure he will get serious consideration for an offer. Benedictine is very pro-tOSU...

Anybody care to take a stab at Eric's projected position? I've heard OL, DE, TE, DT... Nobody seems to know. From what I've seen of him, I think he'd be a good TE, but I've heard questions about his hands.

I tend to think DE. I think he has all the tools to be a great DE. He could possibly grow into a DT as well, but I think he stays at DE. He has the measurables for a TE as well but I like him too much on the defensive side of the ball. I would be absolutely ecstatic to get Thomas and Martin as our DE's. This also addresses our needs best. If we get Martin, he is a sure DE and Thomas has the versatility to possibly go inside to cover a need at DT. Also could play TE if we want a pass receiving TE as we got Ballard(who I still say can catch the ball lol) and Miller. I think Thomas could be a key component of this class due to his versatility being in positions of need.
