This could a pretty big weekend for recruiting
One of the Cats top prospects, who has committed, then maybe decommitted, David Arnold, will be in the house for Ohio State.
Our coaches won't talk about any prospect, they can't, but I can sure speculate that what he sees Saturday, as to how fast he can get on the field will have a big impact on his decision.
Many of our recruits come here expecting to change the program for the better. Everyone agrees that he's a guy who could help, but he's got to see where he'll fit, and believe that as part of a really good class, he'll get a ring or two, along with a great education.

Junior continues to excel on football field at Northwestern

The ''best and the brightest'' was a phrase used by President John F. Kennedy in his recruitment of the finest men to surround his presidency.
It is the same phraseology and philosophy used by Northwestern football coach Pat Fitzgerald in his recruitment of players like David Arnold.
Despite the academic demands of Northwestern, the lone private school in the Big Ten, Fitzgerald sees no limitations on the Wildcats program and its ability to win with players such as Arnold, a 2007 graduate of Copley High.
''We know what we are trying to do and who we are trying to recruit,'' Fitzgerald said.
Arnold, a junior, had many reasons to go to Evanston, Ill.
''David Arnold is a dynamic athlete, has great work ethic, is extremely bright, [a] great young man off the field and comes from a great family,'' Fitzgerald said. ''Over the years, Ohio has been a tremendous pipeline for us.''
Arnold was rated as the 14th-best prospect regardless of position by Ohio High Magazine and the 20th-best safety in the country by nationally renowned recruiting expert Tom Lemming. He was named first-team All-Ohio in Division II.
For his part, Arnold said there were a multitude of reasons to go to Northwestern, including the obvious: a chance to play in a prestigious conference like the Big Ten.
''I saw it as a great opportunity for me academically. Northwestern is a school of about 8,000 and it gives us a smaller class environment and it makes for a more personal learning experience. I like moving to a new place and in the Chicago area was a huge factor,'' Arnold said. ''On my visit here, people here made me feel comfortable and I knew some of the guys coming here, like Jordan Mabin [returning starting cornerback from Nordonia] that I have developed relationships with.''
