Nordonia at Twinsburg
What, when, where: Western Reserve Conference game, 7:30 p.m., Tiger Stadium, 10084 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg. Call 330- 486-2480.
Records: Nordonia 1-3, 0-1; Twinsburg 4-0, 1-0.
What to watch: No matter what happens over the next several years, this is a rivalry that should never be interrupted. While Nordonia has been one of the area's top teams recently -- a 33-6 record and consecutive playoff appearances the last three years -- it is a veteran Twinsburg team that is flourishing behind a strong offensive line and running back Julian Lamon. The Tigers are averaging 30 points a game and their defense has not yielded more than two touchdowns in a single outing. Nordonia is off to its worst start in years, but played very well in last week's 10-7 loss to Solon, the fourth-ranked team in The Plain Dealer poll. Junior tailback Jordan Mabin got off to a slow start, but responded with back-to-back games of 100 or more yards against Midview and Solon and is close to 500 yards on the season. Nordonia has defeated Twinsburg four years in a row and has won five of the past seven meetings.

Mayfield 21,
Nordonia 13
Jordan Mabin scored on an 84-yard kickoff return and a 20-yard run, but it wasn't enough for Nordonia (2-4, 1-2) to overcome visiting Mayfield (4-2, 2-1) in a WRC game.
Nordonia 27,
Cuyahoga Falls 0
Jordan Mabin scored two first-quarter touchdowns and rushed for 283 yards on 25 carries to lead the visiting Knights (3-4, 2-2) past Cuyahoga Falls (0-7, 0-4). The Knights scored all of the game's points in the first quarter.
Nordonia 35, Stow 14
Junior running back Jordan Mabin scored four touchdowns and rushed for 200 yards on 22 carries to lift the visiting Knights (4-4, 3-2) to a WRC victory. Seth Porter rushed for 117 yards and scored twice for Stow (2-6, 1-4).

Date: Oct 27, 2005
Jordan Mabin ran for 232 yards and scored 4 touchdowns to lead the Nordonia Knights over the Brush Arcs by a 42-14 margin last weekend. On defense Mabin caused one of the six Brush turnovers in the game from his safety position and had a long interception return for another. With the win, Nordonia, at 5-4, remains alive for a playoff bid but will need to beat D-I Hudson and have other games fall their way as well. Just a junior, Mabin will one of Ohio's top running backs next season.
