John has offers from seventeen schools including Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida State, West Virginia, Virginia, Rutgers, Syracuse and North Carolina. He holds a 3.5 GPA and admits he would like to stay somewhat close to home.

John is expecting an offer from tOSU soon.

My Take: John finishes blocks well and will definitely be better suited as an interior lineman. His feet were not overly impressive and he appeared stiff at times, but when he locked on to a defender, they were giving up ground fast..so the potential is obviously there.
 
When the name John Elliott of East Meadow, N.Y., surfaced this past year as one of the top offensive linemen in the class of 2007, many Michigan fans wondered if there was a relationship to John "Jumbo" Elliott who played for Michigan from 1983-1987 and went on to play for the NFL's New York Giants and Jets. East Meadow's Elliott says he has been asked that question many times before.

"Almost all recruiters ask me so I am getting kind of used to it. I knew he played at Michigan and for the Giants and that he finished his career with the Jets. Back then people used to ask that question joking around and now they ask it a little more seriously."



The younger Elliot is from East Meadow in Eastern Long Island. Jumbo Elliot actually lives on Long Island as well but closer to Lake Ronkokonoma (spelling) In central Long Island.

Article basically says that he will trim his list to seven within the next week and it will be down to three or four by the team the season rolls around. Slanted article towards WVU, but a good student with a 3.5 core GPA. Penn State and ND are still in touch with him, but have not offered.
