Martell, also a standout basketball player, has offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Western Michigan. He will likely visit tOSU this weekend and participate in the Nike Combine. While he does favor Michigan, he wants to check out tOSU before deciding this summer.
 
Martell has tickets for the Super Bowl as a gift from his mother and is checking out Miami while down there...
It's interesting though because much has been made of UM's policy to pull offers if a committed player takes a visit...

Considering he was one of their first commits and hasn't really opened up recruiting -- and now just opens it up to Miami, opportunistically during the exact dates of the Super Bowl and his mom gets tickets.... hrmmmm, seems too coincidental to me.

Just talked to somebody who talked directly with Webb.

I don't think Michigan has anything to worry about here and you can bet the Michigan coaches know about this visit to Miami well in advance, unlike the Marquis Maze visit to Tennessee. Maze took a visit to Tennessee without informing Michigan then when they questioned him he lied about it.

Back to Webb though. His mother scored tickets to the Super Bowl. Think this was more or less a way to get a free trip to South Florida. Webb is a damn smart kid though. As you can imagine with the Super Bowl being right around the corner airfare and lodging in South Florida is costing a fortune right now. Well, Webb and mom get free airfare and lodging courtesy of the University of Miami and it's just in-time for the Super Bowl.

Love that he's sticking it to Miami. Smart kid. :biggrin:

Maze made a visit to Tennessee after he said he was done with visits. I don't think the Michigan staff would've been mad if he had been upfront with them. Thing is when they questioned him he lied about it and played a bit of phone tag with them. I don't think Carr has the patience he used to in recruiting anymore so I think they just kind of dropped him.
