'07 MI CB Ronald Johnson (Southern Cal signee)

Your analysis is a little suspect and I'll tell you why. I totally agree on Warren...he is very good and might be the most ready to compete, although freshman corners rarely start from day one in the Big 10. He will compete though. But where your comments are a little off is with regards to Gary Gray. Gray is nowhere near as good as you say he is. In fact, many of us here at BP feel he is one of the more overrated players in the country.

I'm a big fan of Gray's. Thought he did well in the AA game. Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I think Dionte Allen is also ready to play. Those guys are probably the three most ready corners to play in this class IMO.

RoJo will have an adjustment period in college if he plays CB. Like most other HS corners the coverages in college will be on another level. Another thing about RoJo though is that he played alot of FS in HS and when he did play CB he played straight-man and very little if any zone. RoJo was able to man-up and out-athlete just about every kid he faced in West Michigan. He won't be able to do that out of the gate in college.

Warren can cover, but does he have the overall size to come up and stop rb's in the big ten like Beanie Wells and guys like that...

Also some of the bigger receivers will be able to get seperation based on size...

As for Gray he is a borderline 4 star IMO...

Warren is a 5* player. Probably the most ready-to-play CB in the nation along with Gary Gray.

Gary Gray is ready to play? Wow. I will just assume you are basing that off of articles and never seeing him in person.

He might play at ND due to their pathetic defense...but he is not close to "ready" for any top tier school.

He won't be able to do that out of the gate in college.

I'll guess that there aren't many others that will. I hate to keep sounding like a broken record, but the college game is a lot harder than it looks on t.v., or a video game, regardless of position. Very few players just show up and be wonderful.

Michael Williams, reminds me of leon hall has great cover skills and hits like a linebacker. Just like Warren he can come in and compete for pt, he would a great nickleback. Warren was excellent against Toliver in the AA game, rivals says he is great against big receviers. Tackling ability may need some work.

Go Blue!

RoJo article from the Muskegon Chronicle discussing his decision.

I think you can kind of read between the lines.

Doesn't sound to me at least like a kid in-love with USC, and he was never going to go against what Mom said. Ever.

I'm sure USC may not have been his first choice... but there is little doubt in my mind that you guys are over-dramatizing it so you feel better. The spin is getting old.

It's only a matter of time before we get "The Michigan coaches pulled RoJo's offer when Warren signed."

Uhhh, no.

I'm not over-dramatizing anything.

Mom wanted no part of Michigan, and she pulled him out of school and kept him at a friends house to keep Michigan coaches away from him.

Not making any of it up, and if you actually read that article I think you can kind of read between the lines just a little bit.

Not sure about anyone else, but I'm sick of hearing about this kid...especially since tOSU doesnt have a dog in the fight.

I realize this is an important topic for some of you, but there are numerous boards with in-depth discussions such as

#1

Thanks for understanding...we just aren't interested in those discussions here.
