'07 MI CB Ronald Johnson (Southern Cal signee)

BSB $

2/20

Ronald holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Tennessee, but does not have a favorite. He again says the recent Michigan staff changes have hurt his perception of the program. He says he knows tOSU wins and produces great DBs.

Wouldn't it be something if we could steal him from scUM? It would be fair retribution for the Woodson's and such. I would love to get him in to the shoe' against scUM this year for an official. Seems as it's certain that he is much more open than once thought to be.

Nothing major but Ronald again says he is not as interested in Michigan as he was at one time. He did enjoy his trip to MSU and is open to seeing as many schools as possible.

As always, thanks grad21 for the update, I think it's pretty significant that he told a UM site this, and they reported it. I've seen some interesting slants from the sites up north. At the very least, the door is open for a talented athlete at a position of need.

Yeah especially this Rivals site, they are known for thier slant. It will be fun to watch his recruitment play out.

It seems like getting rid of English up at UM could have paid huge dividends for us (as unionfutura has pointed out), but even with him staying the turnover up there seems to be enough to at least have some kids looking around.

In this day and age, most prospects are fully aware of what is going on around any school they are interested in, the staff changes and general feeling around the Michigan football program definelty has some prospects looking elsewhere. Johnson sounds like a kid who sincerely wants to keep his options open and look around. In past years, a kid of his talent located in that area would be a Michigan lock in my opinion.

Here's the thing about this kid, he's in an area full of michigan supporters including the person who is a father figure to him his high school coach. His older brother figure goes to UofM, and his mom wants him to stay close. When Michigan's staff gets their stuff together, they'll use all of these advantages in order to get him. It's only February and Michigan knows how this kid feels and they have a ton of time to settle him down. Outside of English right now, the kid probably isn't getting recruited all that hard (except by Dionte Allen of course) by Michigan.

That's why despite all of his updates I still feel he's staying instate. It would be a big upset if he went anywhere else IMO :(

From the ND site...Ronald talks about rehab for hsi knee. He is expecting offers from USC and Texas this week. He recently took the ACT and says that he may be ready to make a decision once he gets those results.
