'07 GA OL Nick Claytor (Georgia Tech signee)

"Auburn was his leader" .......... "considered a strong OSU lean."

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Something doesn't add up, unless that "was" is the operative word.

Either way thanks for the info, from what I've heard I'm not going to be worried.

Well I never said Auburn was the leader but the poster said that Auburn is the leader, which isn't true. They shouldn't be counted out but I think it's safe to say OSU is in very favorable shape with Nick.

Bucknuts radio interview with Nick Claytor. The breakdown:
- Mentions that he took notice to the new facilities and how they will be the best around
- Says Ohio State is the only school with his major(Sports Psychology)
- Slips up when asked what he will do with degree by saying "maybe I will come back to OSU to help out athletes" and also says "I know I'm going to be interning while I'm there". He then goes on to say "maybe I'll go back to the south or stay up there".
- Father REALLY wants him to come to OSU.
- Likes GTech and Auburn, mostly for proximity. GTech for academics and Auburn for offering his teammates is the only difference.
- Will decide after a couple of visits during the season.
My take- Already heard he was a lock and this interviews confirms it. He may have not meant to say it but he straight out said he would be going to OSU three times. After a few officials, get the dancing bananas ready:biggrin:
Edit: Here is the link for anyone wanting to her the interview Claytor on BN

Assuming he ends up in Columbus, this is a HUGE pickup. Getting a bluechip offensive lineman out of georgia, and even moreso out of the south is a real coup. And I don't care about scout saying he's only the #27 lineman, because I really think he's better than that. He'll be an awesome tackle wherever he ends up!

After hearing that on top of everything else, I highly doubt Claytor ends up anywhere besides Columbus. To come out and say your going to OSU three times in an interview for everyone to hear is pretty telling imo.

Yep, just giving my opinion. It seems to me that he also likes Georgia Tech quite a bit. Sorry for having a different opinion.

He also likes Auburn alot. He all but says he's going to OSU in the interview, yet you still say, "I can very well see GT winning out in the end". Why would they?
  • Feels the new OSU facilities will be the best around
  • OSU is the only school with his major
  • Father REALLY wants him to come to OSU
  • Likes GTech and Auburn basically because they're close to home
Sorry, but I really don't see any clues pointing to GT...

In the interview he also says that if he went to GT he wouldn't win as much. Can't feel good to hear that if you are a GT coach.

Personally, I think he is pretty much a done deal and if there is a team to worry about it is Auburn.

I remember years ago some top ohio recruits saying the same about OSU/scum games from the cooper years. That OSU needs something to become a winner. Happy those days are gone

Hey guys I don't mean to be a contrarion but wasn't AJ Wallace a silent commit about this time last year? It's a long time til NLOID and I don't like that a blue chip OOS is being called a "lock" this early. Especially when Auburn is involved....... JMHO. Time will tell.
